Fusen989
I'll keep the summery short. This is simply my 2 cents on how to rework Ash to make him fun, decent and all his abilities useful. Passive: Finishers have an increased attack speed. Note:His current passive is pretty good but this alternative will better synergies with this rework. 1.Shurikens: Instead of throwing 1 or 2 shurikens that seek out targets Ash will throw a dozen shurikens in a shotgun like pattern each one while not doing a lot of damage have a high chance of causing a random proc to happen. Augment mod: Shurikens are thrown in a much larger horizontal line. 2.Smoke bomb: Ash throws down a smoke bomb which covers the area in a smoke screen where the enemy can't see you.But you can see them. Further more you can Hold the ability to throw the smoke bomb in front of you. All enemies in the smoke screen are acceptable to finishers. Augment mod: Ash is able to pick up the smoke bomb and the smoke screen will follow him. 3.Flash: Ash throws down a flash bomb that staggers all enemies around you and teleports in the direction he is currently moving. Augment mod: Upon teleporting if an enemy is close to you Ash will automatically perform a finisher on them. 4.I honestly have no idea how to call this one: Upon activation Ash will pull out his wrist blades and while the ability is active enemies in the abilities range will be mark. When a marked enemy is in your crosshair by pressing the melee button Ash immediately teleports to the target and performs a extremely quick finisher. Note:The wrist blades should be considered as exalted weapons. Augment mod: If an enemy is close to you while your already performing a finisher on a different enemy Ash will automatically jump on said enemy the moment his finished with his last victim. Ash will continue to automatically jump on enemies as long as there close enough.
NinjaZeku
Making Smoke Bomb work more like in Destiny is neat I guess (but include, by default, the thing where it affects all allies within range), an Augment to constantly surround yourself with a stealth multiplier / Finisher-enabling aura also sounds pretty dang good. But, dunno 'bout all these ... - no Slash proc boost - no infinite-Punch-Through, homing, guaranteed-Slash-proc Shuriken spam funzies - no Armor stripping - no shadow clones I don't wanna believe it - yet another exalted weapon Of course, buff individual abilities if they underperform / are dramatically overshadowed by what other Frames offer, but I just don't think Ash needs any such drastic changes, he's a fun / effective enough assassin infiltrator type Frame. Personally, I've always wanted some better Squad support options, but (this rework doesn't really add any and) with Helminth we now can do something about that, so ... eh, I guess that front is kinda covered, as well. A random proc.? Why should I use an abilty which will very likely give the targets an uneeded proc instead of just using a toroid, Mutalist Cernos, Pox,... which will definitely proc the status I need? vor 10 Stunden schrieb Fusen989: 2.Smoke bomb: Ash throws down a smoke bomb which covers the area in a smoke screen where the enemy can't see you.But you can see them. Click to throw the grenade and hold to hold the smoke greande in the hand. vor 10 Stunden schrieb Fusen989: 3.Flash: Ash throws down a flash bomb that staggers all enemies around you and teleports in the direction he is currently moving. Depending on the stealth-attack is either this ability useless or the third ability. (Except in some very special situations.) Overall I wouldn't call your concept bad, but it's also not good. You failed at the end, because some abilities overshadows the others and make them useless. Last but not least I still like your concept, because it didn't end in a press4towin Ash concept like many others. @(PS4)sweatshawp your opinion? It could be that you see the hidden gem in the concept that I didn't see.^^
Fusen989
Alright I'll go into more detail and how I imagine this rework to work. Passive: On 2020-08-29 at 10:28 PM, NinjaZeku said: - no Slash proc boost Like I said his current passive is good but the reason i want to change it to having faster finishers is upon the ninja rule when it comes to fights which is to end them as quickly as possible. 1st: On 2020-08-29 at 10:28 PM, NinjaZeku said: - no infinite-Punch-Through, homing, guaranteed-Slash-proc Shuriken spam funzies - no Armor stripping Lets be honest Shuriken without augment is useless on higher difficulty and i don't want to waste a mod slot just to make an ability useful. My idea was to make it into a utility/CC ability depending on how far you are to the enemy. On 2020-08-30 at 12:28 AM, ES-Flinter said: A random proc.? Why should I use an abilty which will very likely give the targets an uneeded proc instead of just using a toroid, Mutalist Cernos, Pox,... which will definitely proc the status I need? Utility: Like I said you won't be throwing 1 or 2 shuriken but a dozen which means that if your close enough to an enemy you can hit him multiple times and cause multiple procs at the same time. CC: If you can get above a group of enemies you have a chance to cause several enemies to stagger, stun, panic, confuse, slow etc. 2nd: The idea behind this one was to give Ash an ability that can actually support his squad in the form of covering them while they are either reviving someone or doing an objective. Also on how you can see them is basically the enemy and objects will glow like you were looking threw the codex scanner. On 2020-08-29 at 10:28 PM, NinjaZeku said: but include, by default, the thing where it affects all allies within range I already had it in mind. On 2020-08-30 at 12:28 AM, ES-Flinter said: I would connect the augment with the normal ability. Click to throw the grenade and hold to hold the smoke greande in the hand. It can work like that but honestly i have no idea for an augment mod then. 3rd: This one is basically used for 3 things: mobility, quick escape and getting up close. On 2020-08-30 at 12:28 AM, ES-Flinter said: Wouldn't it be cleverer that Ash stuns the enemies after he teleported? It would kinda feel like Excaliburs radial blind and I honestly think that staggering is enough. 4th: And we finally come to the big one. The problem with the old bladestorm was that it was too op not to mention the fact that you were completely unavailable during bladestorm. While my problem with the current bladestorm is that it just feels so slow. So here is my solution, a manual version of bladestorm. Basically instead of relying on your shadow clones to do all the work you'll simply go up to the enemy no fancy animation or crazy acrobatics, just a simple facestab/ throat slice and you move on to the next. On 2020-08-29 at 10:28 PM, NinjaZeku said: - no shadow clones I don't wanna believe it I honestly believe that shadow clones will simply get in the way and ruin a perfectly good chainstab. Depending on the stealth-attack is either this ability useless or the third ability. (Except in some very special situations.) 1.The finisher on his 2nd is meant to make it independent from the 3rd and 4th, plus your teammates can also use it perform finishers. 2.The finisher on his 3rd is only available threw the augment mod. 3.That is kinda of the point for the passive to make finishers as fast as possible. 4. As I said the 3rd only has a finisher with the augment mod and even then when you would have the augment on I would make it so the 4th had a much shorter teleport but also cost less energy that way you can synergies by using the 3rd to get closer to a much farther enemy and then use your 4th to take out any enemy that is close by.
