The Xaku grind is a horrible way to do "tied content"

THIS IS PURELY OUT OF MY LOVE FOR THE GAME AND WORRY FOR NEW PLAYERS AND OLDER ONES BECAUSE OF INCREASING GRIND UP TO RIDICULOUS STANDARDS

PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME TO READ A POST ON A FORUM BEFORE YOU PULL THE TRIGGER FINGER ON THE KEYBOARD

Have you taken the time and think what Xaku requires for you to grind?

Seriously I get we all want content to be tied together, and Necramechs/Operators/Archguns are a great way to tie content together, but they all share one thing, they are rewards to use in other content

Xaku's parts are pointers to go here, grind or die grinding

The "Heart of Deimos" quest is quite accessible for new players, and Xaku's blueprints are pretty easy to get with public gameplay, Yet the parts require you to do all this if you are at the lowest power level you can be when you get Xaku's parts (aka public player being carried at the worst)

-Heart of Deimos completion

-Scintillant Grind

-Mining grind in all of the open worlds

-level 40-60 bounty grind in Plains of Eidolon

-Fishing in Cambion Drift/Plains of Eidolon

-COMPLETE FACTION GRIND FOR SOLARIS UNITED ARE YOU SERIOUS

-PROFIT TAKER BOUNTIES FOR 2 DROPS OF 25%

For me Xaku is pretty easy to get because I have done all of the prerequisites for the items on the list.

But Xaku is a community frame and his parts can be obtained by players who have barely even started scratching at the barrel of content Warframe has to offer.

They won't have the access to mods required to build a basic setup for a good long time.

Xaku is currently the worst frame at release, and he requires the sloggiest and ridiculous grind there is.

And you are waiting for the "free player" community feedback so you can buff Xaku accordingly but you absolutely know the average mastery rank of free to play players, they won't do a grind like this for Xaku, ever.

You will be waiting for that feedback for quite a while when the forums are being used by the vast minority of free to play players.

What next? You add a Sedna open world like a cool Grineer City and you ask players to farm 10 Steel Essence for the new frame?

I don't know about others but when I first started playing I looked at Nekros like a complete edgelord and thought "Cool I want to grind him" and got told he was at the pretty end of the game (Not that accurate I know but there was still a ton of frames to access before him). Okay I thought "I need to "complete" the game" and run his mission for a day and I have him no biggie, having targets to grind for is important in a game like this.

And what if a new player really wanted to play Xaku? They think he's super cool as a broken frame or someone really loves the skeleton memes or they can relate to Xaku's pronoun being "they" who knows and a more experienced player gives them the list of things you need to do. At that point it's not even a question of "should I keep playing this game?" if they expect all grind to be like that.

Warframes are a matter of player identity, you choose your favourite for whatever reason and get them to enjoy the game and it's important to have frames accessible enough to have the players have that "first hook" for the grind, and after that you give these really time consuming grinds for interesting rewards.

I am sure there are a lot of players who like playing Monks or Pugilists in other games, they come to Warframe, look at Baruuk and think "oh that's my frame, that's literally me I'm going to have so much fun getting to him and then playign with him and experiencing all these cool quests my friends told me about" and then look at the sad reality fo what you need to do to get him and they quit sooner or later because they cannot enjoy themselves in the game.

You are once again completely dodging my whole point.

Sure I could run fissures all day every day and buy all content when it drops.

But there's two problems, that's braindead and there's never new content that way.

And one of the most fun times I had in game was running T4 Survival keys years back, and fissures remind me how much fun I had then and how much I hate the new way of grinding,

Getting the blueprints is already annoying enough for me. It seems the rarity of the bounty drops is messed up. I got like 6x the rare drop and no uncommon drops whatsoever in just 6-7 tries. I mean, I know it's rng, but something seems off.

For me it's more that the "free to play" tag is really misleading now that the grind is not ethical for new content.

I've used a couple of hundred € just for cosmetics and a couple of potatoes/inventory space here and there but at this point I'd rather have the game completely buy to play just to not have this kind of grind to access grind added.

If you are new you were gonna have to grind Fortuna anyway, and if you've played for awhile, you'd know you can buy the atmo with Vox solaris standing. 

And if you've played for awhile and avoided it, that's your fault. A buncha people love to say how much something sucks and they're not gonna do it: Vox solaris, operator focus, amps, eidolons, putting 5 forma in something etc. 

You can choose to not do it and pay for it later, or just make some plat. At least this game gives you the choice to buy something if you dont wanna play the game.

What's your least favorite part of the game? Conclave maybe? I'm going to git gud at conclave and personally stop you from ever buying floofs again.

I agree that it is very misleading to promise a F2P space ninja shooter then block progress with dozens of hours of MMO minigames.

I've done Sanctuary Onslaught a lot but am still missing her blueprint, but Khora is still in no way as outrageous as Xaku.

She has harsh droprates and Kavat Scanning is ass, but alteast you don't have to complete a time gated faction farm for one part of his blueprints or you don't have to grind every other open world minigame outside of Plains of Eidolon and stomping a couple rabbits.

It's not even hours when a player who can access Xaku's parts requires MONTHS to complete Solaris United.

Why are we going to have to grind fortuna eventually? I'm rank 4 with no motivation to get to rank 5.

Warframe was better as content islands, that way if you don't want to go all the way down one island you don't have to, you could wander about between them, taking as much or as little as you want from each bit. Now we have the opposite of that as the vocal community appeared to want which means that access to bits from one update is limited by how much the player has engaged with the other bits.

I liked warframe more when it was a buffet, now it is like a meal where you have to finish each course to get to the next.

If a new player really wants Xaku and doesnt want to farm for months they will just fork out the platinum, or sell parts for platinum to get him.

And that is not etchical at all and they f2p model of Warframe has been on a downward spiral for a good year now, that's not something you want to say for a new player if you want to keep your status as an "ethical and fair f2p"

You don't have to, you can just make plat. I shouldn't really have to explain why you should do profit taker and Vox solaris.

Credits and toroids. Toroids are used for standing which let's you purchase atmo gyro systems and the 3rd one whatever that is. 

You get access to archwing guns on land. 

And the obvious operator arcanes that are great to use, and even if you dont wanna use them, can be sold for a lot of plat.

Selling those arcanes is what allowed me to actually get some different skins and buy stuff I wanted in game elsewhere.

I like that DE has started to use outside resources in new content so that they aren't abandoned. It's one of the biggest praises I have for the Helminth system. Xaku's aquisition is quite fair...

To be honest, besides the new materials( scintillas and the thaumica ) i had enough resources to build all xaku parts, and i didn't even grinded that much in the other 2 open worlds, BUT, i'll agree with you on one thing, scintillas an thaumica farm(especially thaumica) is very, very frustrating, i yesterday i mine for like 30/50 min and i barely found 20 thaumica(thanks to the booster).

I know what is behind the profit taker and vox solaris, but I don't want or care about any of it. I want to be able to go on not caring about it and move to the new stuff without being held back by my lack of engagement with the old.

I was asking why I "should" do it.

Xaku is not a frame for beginners at all.

Truthfully? They shouldn't even be allowing it to be sold to MR 0 players.

I would argue that this isn't really integrating separated content islands. What people mean when they say they want that is they want a way to be able to get progress toward multiple islands at the same time. For example, suppose that they updated Plains bounties so that void fissures and lich thralls could spawn there. If that happened, you would be able to open relics, grind Cetus standing, and kill liches at the same time.

This, in contrast, is providing a reward for doing multiple islands, not a method to do them together.
