Nekros's Soul Punch augment 'Soul Survivor' small thing I noticed

Don't take it in the wrong way, but at the moment we have waaay more important things to fix beforehand. Words are not something to be offended by. We are humans, we will make mistakes. We have to be understanding to each other. At some point in the future, they may fix it, but i would rather have them focus their attention towards progression blocker bugs.

For example, yesterday i was not able to crack isolation vaults, symbols were misplaced, T1 failed because of that, then T2 and T3 got insta-failed somehow. I would say, i miss my earned resources more, than those few letters.

I don't see anyone expressing that this is offensive, and it would take like 5 seconds to fix. The thread aims to make devs aware of the "revive him" in the Mod text, that's it.

Like a lot of things.

I don't see any problem with that really cuz the description says: "Use on a downed ally to revive him..." says what needs to say so it doesn't need to change.

Despite English not really using grammatical gender, it does still exist overall in the roots of the language so he for ally aint wrong and technically isnt even referencing the sex of the target.

On topic of Soul Survivor, please can we add invul time on revive? 1s for every 100 energy (energy amount needed scaling with efficiency or something) to it so that said ally doesnt get nuked the moment you "consciousness punch".

And it's just that easy. If Bone Daddy goes to revive a Saryn, "him" is incorrect.

on a downed ally to revive....(don't know about you but the ability doesn't revive more than 1 ally) if you really want to change the gender cuz reasons it would be "on a downed ally to revive it", wich sounds awful (to me)

-snip-

"Them" is commonly used as a third-person singular pronoun if the subject is not obviously male or female, if the subject could be either, etc. Examples here.

Other augments use "they" as the pronoun referring to allies, though in those cases the allies could be singular or plural, as is the case with Oberon's Smite Infusion and other "add elemental damage" mods like it, as well as Rift Haven. The abilities can affect just one ally at a time (and the Smite Infusion group of mods used to be single-target), but descriptions refer to multiple allies, so whether "their" is singular or plural in those cases is ambiguous.

But then there's Loki's Safeguard Switch, which uses singular they: "After teleporting with an ally they will be invulnerable for 6 seconds."

Sure, generic "he" is a thing, but it's pretty uncommon these days and isn't used in this game at all, barring Soul Survivor. Using "him" on the mod looks like an oversight.

But if we use "them" instead, it works for every frame.

Why are you so resistant to this idea?

probably cause its got to do with pronouns, can you imagine being met with any resistance for a different but similarly banal consistency/grammar correction?

say the game used color and colour in two different places by accident, would anyone comment trying to justify keeping that mistake?

Its orwellian newspeak, technically since ally is not male or female it's not so much to do with gender stuff but more with correct grammar. I mean I do get that being a grammar Nazi but I'm not bothered by him, also the correct term for a yet unidentified or neutral party would be them, since in this one case ally is completely neutral so it applies but I hate saying that cuz it feels like im giving an inch to the gender mob.

I know I would not care, since I honestly have no idea which is the correct term for color or colour, almost every other website I visit seems to be in turmoil for that one word. One Dev may say color, other may say colour. I say I do not give a #*!%.

Well I can say why, because maybe in the past this would be a non-issue. But nowadays it is a kinda atomized thing where it may feel to some, well feels to some that they are slowly forced into orwellian newspeak and I share the resentment for that but like some cannot see beyond gender in the way that not everyone might accept their view on it. It's in this case so that people can't see beyond gender in the way that they think it's them being forced to change their language. But as you might see Im using they and them left and right here because as with the mod, as with the word ally. I have no idea about who specifically Im speaking and if I have no idea it's grammatically correct to use they and them to refer to groups or unidentified parties.
