What's With All The "which Side Will You Join" Threads?

Probably competitive grindfest. Collect more stuff for Grineer or Corpus, and side that collects more gets reward.

I foresee people waiting for one side to get the lead, and then they will pick their side. Winning one ofc.

That is exactly what I plan to do, given that fighting for either Corpus or Grineer makes equally no sense to me. Basically the Tenno are picking between a fast, brutal death and autopsy in the hands of Grineer, or a slow, studied death and autopsy in the hands of Corpus. All the while the Tenno brothers and sisters of the dead ones are fighting so Grineer and Corpus can move on with their agendas regarding Tenno. And the Tenno in their fight for balance forgot their brains in the ODs.

Shame on Nyx... Enough brainpower to drive masses of Grineer/Corpus insane, but not enough to realise this plot-hole the size of a galaxy.

Actually, if all works out as planned, we Tenno are supposed to balance where necessary and restore order to the system. If one side is gaining the upper hand, we should make sure that the other side receives necessary assistance, so that neither side achieves too much power. Our objective is to preserve the old balance of power between the two factions.

You see, before the announcement of the event we had never heard of this "maintain the balance" thing. Being a little nitpicky RPer now, so far the Lotus forwarded messages that were intercepted. In those messages it is clear the Corpus x Grineer dispute is over caches of Tenno still in their cryosleep.

The messages came from Alad V, important Corpus commander who also mentions a project Zanuka. Whatever project Zanuka is, Alad V wants the Tenno captured and awakened within it. What Corpus do to Tenno is already known.

The Grineer communications were by Sargas Ruk, prominent general, who hates every and anything non-Grineer. Flesh is a weakness to him, and by seeing his obsession with body augmentations, it is not a big surprise what he plans to do with the Tenno.

So the Tenno are told they are joining sides to balance the power struggle. Funny that by doing that they are sending the few awakened Tenno to bleed for two armies that, ultimately, would have better reasons to just let them die in battle and carry their frames to their leaders. Maybe Grineer wouldnt have that thought as they are portrayed as less than intelligent in average, but for Corpus? A society that worships only technology and profit? Tenno would never even leave their transports to a battle, it would be straight to Zanuka.

If anything Tenno are being portrayed as mindless combat machines really. They are being sent to fight for a group that plans to do with their race EXACTLY what the other wants as well, and they do it, no questions asked.

Not even going too far into "system balance", as the longer a conflict lasts, the more imbalance it causes. If Tenno had a sense of preservation, or even a remote notion of the importance of the role they play in all this, there is no way they would "join" Corpus or Grineer. Wait for the mass strike, send a couple cells to undefended positions, cause enough damage that would either end the conflict or remind all involved of the presence of Tenno as keepers of balance, ESPECIALLY if Tenno have their codes based on eastern warfare. Sun Tzu is twisting in his grave.
