Volcombrot
Hay, I am living in a very rural area, so my internet is kinda bad - especially my upload. Since this game is client sided I don't want to be the host in any mission. Becasue usually I have like 8 members join, 5 already fail to enter thanks to the bad connection, 1 is fine (~50 to 80 ping) and 2 leave with the comment "Omfg, ping so hard, stupid mountain goat internet". And tbh, I get why. Having a constant ping of 200 is more frustrating than farming Scintillant without the new hotfixes. So in order to avoid being the host I would really love a button in the options like "On public: Never be the host" with a little warning that this may cause drastic longer waiting time on missions. Or just stretch out the "looking for a squad" time window, when selecting a mission - there propably will be a lot of people trying to do fissures for example, so it wouldn't take to long to find another host. I know, this is a quality of life-button, but this would help out, especially in Open World Maps. Since you have to accept the bounty, leave the town, load all the time, just to see "Ups, I would be the host!" and enter town again, abandoning your objectiv this would come in handy. I would love to stand in the hallway for 3minutes if this means avoiding connections problems for other people.
Satsuki
A very reasonable idea that should definitely happen. Sadly, many mountain goats will proceed not to give a single ****ing iota about whether or not their hosting is pants. Points for consideration, Tenno. Arkandae
I saw somewhere that going to "Option>Gameplay>PC Type : LAPTOP" makes you less likely to be the host. No idea if it's true or not, but when I tried it changed nothing for me.
BeeM
Nice idea, would be great to have such option. Also a little trick (it don't work all the time) > launch a mission and abort it ASAP (before anyone can join) relaunch that mission right after, this way I usualy avoid to be the host most of the time. (PSN)Rainbow_Neos1
Been advocating for this for a while. We should have the choice to host, not host, or do either. Some other cool MM setting would be the game pairing you with people with same relic, pair with people with specific relic tiers (flawless, radiant), and the option to appear offline while solo. Just a matchmaking overhaul would be great. This matchmaking is ancient.

And I believe that implementing a fissure matchmaking based on specific relicts would be a nice idea, I doubt we will ever get that. It could cause "issues" for people looking for a group without the specific relic. I am endgame, I don't mind going into a group that requieres [specific relic] (even though I don't need it), but newish people will maybe not find a fissure group, since all people are doing matchmaking for a specific relic. It does its job poorly. I'd like to be able to let randoms get some Simaris standing, so I put it on public; but when I do, I end up joining others and thus no Simaris target spawns. That's one of many issues with this non-specfic, ancient matchmaking.
Talinthis
So you are saying that the scarlet spear railjack side options should be available everywhere? Yes. Yes they should.

DrivaMain
I am baffled how DE never implement a host option after 7 years of release. It’s basic peer to peer matchmaking feature that takes minutes to implement given DE’s experience with networking.
