Doing T5 Bounty, 3 Random Squad Members Leeching By Hunting Animals. I abort mission at Stage 5, forcing everyone return to Necralisk.

And once again with a brand new open world, we see exactly the same problems which plagued the earlier open worlds with absolutely nothing done to fix it.

The only real cure for leechers like this is to take loki, follow them around and switchport them into the water.

That's... some very strange water. Point still stands, though - keep switchporting them away from their target and they will eventually learn their lesson. At the very least, you'll get some entertainment out of it.

Was it a pre-selected bounty, or something you picked up from outside the Necralisk? One of the things I always hated about about mining and conservation was that there was no way to indicate 'this is a mining session, so don't bother picking up bounties and expecting help'.

Nice, Being a $&*^ to A******s. Achieves nothing really,.

Heres a simple rule i follow:

Have no expectation in public matches.

You also achieved nothing as mining and conservation effects are saved directly.

You as host aborting only does a host migration (assuming thats what you did? unless you somehow made the last stage of the objective to fail) and they can continue to complete or fail the bounty.

Try a polite word first , then if they do not respond there is support for reporting leechers.

You want them to do exactly what you want? try recruit.

Trying (and failing) to counter grief these complete randoms (of which you shouldn't expect anything anyway) actually makes you sound like an ass.

If you want 100% certainty that your squadmates will help you with the bounty and not run around doing their own thing go to recruiting

I really have to wonder why some people in the community are so accepting of these kinds of toxic people, and there's really only one reason I can think of.

No, it makes you sound even worse.

I can understand being miffed at other players who don't contribute. I do. But I must ask, is it really that common for players to actively set themselves Global, pick a bounty (as you need said bounty to matchmake with other players with said bounty if preselected from Mom) and then ignore the objective? I can honestly say that I have NEVER in all my time playing the Roaming missions seen this kind of behavior. Sure I've seen one or two members going off-course for a minute because they are multitasking as they should be doing. But never to the extent that OP seems to indicate. If anything, when I get into those missions, the players there are extremely aggressive homing missiles for said objectives. It's honestly difficult keeping up with some players.

That being said, I only global up for the top tier bounties. Maybe it's a thing with low tier bounties?

And lastly, doing a full U-Turn. OP and people like OP: That's quitter talk. And worse yet; it's petty. Think of these uncooperative players as a "difficulty tweak". A mission speciffic challenge. If that doesn't float your boat: You picked Public matchmaking. As standard, your expectation should be tiered at needing to do the heavy lifting. Or if worse comes to worse: matchmaking not providing you with reinforcements.

It feels really good.

They lost all their hunting progress.

Seriously guys, don't leech in bounties.

This is partially a problem with the teaming algorithm , I went out just general fishing , no bounty selected and it shoved me into a bounty a few times and a few times even into other people's isolations. And I kept telling them, Im chillin and fishing, stop dragging me into bounty teams.

Sounds fishy.

Just do the bounty. Some times, ppl are just tired. Maybe they already did 50 bounties.

I believe they will help if things are going crazy. If not...next bounty you just leave and try another squad.

Public squad veteran here... join the pack!

No, they can go solo if they want to fish or mine or hunt. They should not "just do the bounty".

...I wonder if OP is one of those people who bring super meta stuff and wind up doing everything so thoroughly there's no fun left for anyone else.

No, people are going into bounties and going straight to fishing. It literally just happened.

You know leeches are very common in humanity right? Maybe you dont realize because you're one of those leeches?

I'm amused by the assumption, nah, I tend to wind up hanging out at the objective, bored out of my mind because one dude brought a trivializer and I don't see any fish or ore spots around.

Tis pretty boring, I should get better at recognizing when someone's loadout means I'll be useless and go do something else.

if nobody is helping i just leave squad and complete the bounty myself. usually if i can i sit in front of the last thing i have to destroy and wait for the timer to be like 20 seconds before i leave squad and then continue to complete it on my own.

That's the reason I play ALL open worlds solo..

Kinda this.

If I've got something I really want to get done, then I usually go in solo so I don't have to deal with distractions.

However, if it's something that might benefit quite a bit from having some help, I'll just group up. If they insist on screwing around with silly stuff, then I'll either do likewise or just leave. It'll depend how pressing time is.

That timer progresses during host migration, so if your host you can make their mission fail while they deal with the loading screen
