An actual official explanation of how the Monoliths are intended to work would be nice.

In other games I like the mechanic of "here's a small puzzle, figure out which of the many tools you have will solve it."  I actually like that in other games a lot.

I don't trust this game.  This game bugs out so often that it will bug out and break while the devs are streaming it and they're not even embarrassed.  "haha that's just Warframe for you!"  This game is so buggy, when the community was tasked with creating another frame, they literally made Bugframe™  It's a meme how often everything in this game breaks.  It breaks enough that they put something in like the Ropalolyst fight, and despite the rampant bugs with that, it technically works well enough to farm Wisp from it, so they just left it.  They will never go back and iron out all the bugs that occur during Eidolons, Ropalolyst, the Orb Heists, etc, because they work well enough most of the time that you can run them.  "Looks good from my house."

Because I don't trust this game, I don't trust the puzzles.

"Is that how that was supposed to work?  Was that actually the answer or did it just break?  Well, it worked twice, but didn't work the third time, so now I really don't know."

I've read the community theories and guides on the different way the monoliths work.  So far, every method I've tried for each different symbol has both worked and netted me resources, and also not worked and I've gotten nothing for dozens of kills over several attempts; again, using multiple methods in the attempts.

There is no consistent way I have found for these monoliths to spit out resources for me.  I'm of the opinion that these are bugged.  Especially since I literally found and reported an exploit on one of them and they haven't worked consistently for me since they fixed that exploit.

An official explanation of how these are supposed to work would put to rest the different theories and also allow people to know if they're experiencing a bug (so they can report it.) or just doing something slightly wrong.

i would welcome some small hints from say, Loid, when you start trying to figure out what the Obelisks do.
keyword small. don't harass the Player, and don't just give it away either.

could be cool to experience even if you don't need the hints, as long as it's presented well.

You've missed the entire point of my post.  Like the whole point.

The entire point of my post is that without an exact explanation of how they're supposed to work we have no way of knowing if the method we're using is correct or not, even if it works 100% of the time.  The exploit I found also worked 100% of the time.  It got patched out.  The other point is that for me, none of the methods for each symbol work 100% of the time.  Some people say you just kill things or let friendlies kill things near the monolith.  Some people say you have to get the kills with your amp.  I have an alliance member that gets all up in arms if people won't do the killing with their amps even though we've 100% gotten resources from monoliths without doing it that way.  And not gotten resources at all regardless of what method was used.  I just had a Xata monolith that did its thing and turned into other symbols and literally nothing I did made any of them spit out resources at all.  Zero resources regardless of method used.

IF this game wasn't as buggy as it is, I'd say screw the explanation and let us figure it out and spread that knowledge around.  But because of the bugs, any method that's found to work has a high probability of just being another bug.

yes, and parts of the game not working aside, if an NPC gave you hints as to what you should be doing at each Obelisk, i think that would cover that problem of that every Obelisk is different from one another and the only thing somewhat tying them all together is the theming around the Void and Void Energy/Damage.

Spoiler

Most of them require you to kill the targets affected by the tower (light blue'ish glow on them) with your amp. The tower that mind controls, requires the mind controlled targets to kill. And the one that spawns the flying tendril things, requires the tendrils to kill.

For the towers that require kills by the tendrils or mind controlled enemies, or the the one where it looks to scratch them to death, it would be very nice if they actually did a reasonable amount of damage. Seems like they just kinda poke em.

God its almost like they never actually playtested this update.
