Subsumed Pillage / Ensnare Umbra Atlas Prime = Fantastic

Edit: Changed the build per the conversation below to try out Ensnare, which works great. Pillage works even better:

Decided to subsume Nidus first for Larva hoping it would be useful with Atlas still despite the nerf. Unfortunately Larva's range is mediocre to the point of uselessness and petrify does not show as an effect on enemies trapped in larva. Larva also cannot group enemies that are petrified. So that synergy is not as good as hoped. Air Burst or Pull would be better for the intended purpose, but still lack range to be great, so probably better just going with Pillage. Video here:

Thanks. Yeah, hadn't thought of Ensnare, are you sure you can petrify ensnared enemies? Base radius for spread is 10m, which is somewhat better. Still low range though. I'll probably just go with Pillage, but will give Ensnare a try once I get around to subsuming Khora. Other abilities are more universally useful so going to subsume those first.

I put breech surge on atlas. Hitting groups was never a challenge with my range build and surge has a damage bonus component.

Fair enough. The build I run can hit stuff with petrify too, just wanted to do it faster and group up more enemies.

That was one of the combo's I hoped would work, that's a shame.
I tried out Warcry on my Rhino (I know, highly original) but the low duration plus the nerfed speed makes it very underwhelming and practically useless. You can get away with a ~30 second roar, but a 15 second warcry? Nah. It's not even worth the animation length.

DE made damn sure you couldn't have fun with any of this.

Never use Warcry without Eternal War.

On Valkyr, yeah, but subsumed and put on another warframe, you'll be hard pressed to justify that mod slot. At 280% strength (100% duration) you get 15 seconds of 84% increased attack speed. It's not nothing, but it's hardly worth extending and if you sacrifice a slot on it, the rest of your build will suffer and the speed likely decreases (when you have a high strength build).

The way I see it, the idea is to replace something you weren't going to use anyway (for me it's Rhino's charge), to get something at least. As it stands it's not worth the hassle and if I have to start investing in it with a mod, then I might as well not use it in the first place. Best I can do is get rid of Iron Shrapnel and lose the huge advantage of being able to reapply iron skin when I want and not when it runs out naturally.

If I got around to replacing an Atlas skill on a build Pull would be the first choice. Pull-Pull-petrify-punch-punch-rinse repeat.

Isn't it ironic that Greedy Pull was nerfed back in the day due to farming teams abusing it... now every frame can have it, my how things have changed.
