Following Tracks Is So Frustratingly Impossible For The Vision Impaired

Can we get more vivid animal tracks that you can see from further away? Maybe a tool that let's you see the tracks on your minimap? It is so so hard for me (I'm legally blind) and others (my legally blind friends) to follow these tracks. It's specifically difficult in Cetus due to all the grass, rocks, and dirt + Day/Night Cycle. Deimos could use some help here too, but Cetus gives me so much of a frustrating time trying to follow tracks. I even went as far as to turn on color blind mode to help, but that didn't help. All these vision related things in this game are so frustrating.

My eyes are pretty bad (not legally blind, but my optometrist's jaw dropped when I did a vision test) and I agree, I also think the scope on the tranq rifle needs to be better, I have the most marginal color blindness and can't see certain tones (Orange on White in Fortuna drives me nuts).

I would say try and mess with the color blind filter. I hope that can help you. I have my own frustrations that I once posted about regarding Ores in the snow in Fortuna. Light blue on a white is extremely hard to see for me. Unfortunately, my previous post regarding it and other vision issues (such as not being able to see the success zones with a snow background behind it due to both being white) was not impactful.

The tracks on Deimos aren't bad for just the visually impaired. They're JUST BAD all around. For one thing, the tracks are affected by environment lighting, which on Deimos is AGGRESSIVELY red. This makes the tracks tint the same colour as the ground, making them excessively hard to see. The overabundance of Invested grass often obscures them. Tracks can often entirely disappear unless seen at an oblique angle and from far away. Tracks often double back on themselves and go off in unpredictable directions. Tracks often go through walls for some distance. Tracks often disappear and continue on another "floor," going straight up through the ceiling or straight down through the floor. Tracks often show up on the sides of cliffs.

Tracking animals in Deimos typically takes me easily 10 times longer than tracking animals in Orb Vallis simply because I waste so much time walking back-and-forth across the same 5m2 over and over again trying to spot where tracks go off to. My eyesight is pretty good, generally speaking - or at least it was. Deimos is genuinely hurting my eyes between the oppressive red hue to everything, the visual mess that is combat and the utter lack of contrast making impossible to tell background from foreground from critters from interactive objects. It's a little frustrating hearing DE pat themselves on the back in the Dev Stream over how great the Deimos artwork is. Sure, it makes for pretty screenshots and concept art, but it's frustrating to painful to actually navigate when everything looks like everything else and everything looks like an inside-out meatball.

the visibility issues has been raised ever since they announce it fortuna introduction tennocon, at this point i think DE would just double down with the mechanic till it work before even try to mess with accessibility (and we know how bad the record DE have for visibility with UI)

for the time being, the work around is to just ... skip the tracking phase altogether and double jump around the area boundary till u active the call point, the game doesn't track if you stick to the trail or not, just the proximity to the call point.

Eh, I dunno, I'm starting to adjust. It still sucks, but I'm getting the hang of it.

I'm starting to wish enemy radar placed the little diamond reticule over enemies it detects, similar to what the mining tool does for mining nodes.
