Thaumica is a Myth

4hrs of mining and only 17 thaumic. For how much you need to craft xaku parts this is an unrealistic drop rate.

I don't feel any trouble mining them. I spent most of my mining time in cave (at the toxic stage of ISO vault, T2 usually has tons of veins) instead of the surface if that makes any difference.

Having said that my Thaumic : Adramalium : Bapholite drop rate is around 1 : 20 : 30

Edit: just realise your drop rate is even better than mine. I got ~150 thaumic by the time I have 3k Bapholite lol

It seems like ISO vaults and requiem obelisks have a better drop rate on thaumica than actually mining for them. Thaumica is the rarest ore, which makes it a pain in the ass to get consistently from mining.

It sure is. This is after building all the things that require it by the way. Had about 1000 till I started buying tokens, building stuff. And I'm certain other players have more than this as well.

Sadly I found out only after I made all stuffs. Just keep in mind how the pillar works, there should be some explanation lying around reddit or wiki.

Funny, not 20 minutes ago I actually started popping ore veins while waiting on a mix station for Iso Vaults (We had a Limbo) and got a drop of them.

The Pillars and Vaults do help though, I only need a single piece more for my Necramech.

I had a good amount before I even needed any, not sure where I got em but I do like to "speed mine" while doing bounties (meaning if I see a vein close to where obj is I just wiggle my laser through without doing the mini-game, gives less gems tho but also takes only a second or two so wont compromise obj)

It uses the same drop rate as Auron and Hesperon. So yeah, it's pretty bad

What exactly drops from inside the vaults? Is it (potentially) every mining / fishing resource on deimos? Does Scidaddleant drop there as well or just from mechs and random flying around?

Personally I've only ever found it it caves, near the entrance.
I'm guessing it's like other openworld zones that the ores and gems are more common in some parts on the map than others, I mostly did my digging around the Catabolic Gitter since there's a lot of caves in the canyon and infested doggos tracks/spawn that i had to grind for the rank 3 rank up anyway.


I didn't know you had to kill with operator for the pillars so doing that whenever you pass one is probably worth it too, as you can get stuff you'll probably need for something in the future too.

you need 60 for Xaku, but the mech needs 80(!) for one part, so thats 140 Thaumica in total so far, haven't gotten thigns like Cortege Blueprints, so more might be needed elsewhere.

it is pretty rare though, takes a long time to gather a substantial amount of Thaumica.

I was trying to use this method and experienced an oddity wherein after I farmed perhaps 40 Thaumica for the day? The pillars stopped dropping Thaumica. They will drop a whole bunch of other rare resources, but just not Thaumica. I continued trying these pillars for an hour or two, but all the pillars I attempted just will not drop Thaumica.

It isn’t either farm it from pillars or mine in the iso vaults and the infested seraglio Caves

Yay another thread of "Where's the thaumica?"

Answer: there are tunnels just outside of Necralisk. The closest drop thaumica in droves.

I have had ZERO luck with pillars and almost none from mining. Most of mine has come from iso vaults.

Is there a particular pillar type, or cave location that has improved chances for this stuff?

I finally got all I need(at least for now). 100% sure it's spawn/drop rate will be looked into, make no mistake. 

But now there is another problem.

Scintillant. I've only gotten 2 of those since the update hit, and the majority of the time I was actively farming them(with two boosters).
