Subsumed abilities for octavia

So far, I have considered the following abilities for octavia to replace her 2:

Smite - good extra damage, but costs augment slot

Breach surge - seems like a great damage multiplier, but probably radiates the enemies too much to shoot at her 1

War cry - great for gunblade heavy attack builds, as her multishot and melee damage buffs further enhance these gunblades, also double armor buff. No other uses, though

Garuda's healing ability (don't know the name lol) - adds healing to her kit. I use vazarin heals, though

Marked for death - can increase mallet damage range by targeting an enemy inside the mallet range, difficult to use consistently though

Dispenser - more energy, also heals and ammo support

Bad abilities:

Larva and silence - great CCs, but prevent enemies from shooting her 1 again

Roar - replaces amp

Any other suggestions?

Honestly i don't think Octavia needs either a heal or an attack speed buff. Smite is good and doesn't need any augment to do its job. Just to be out there i would suggest Fire Blast, gives you some sort of panic button in the case you aren't invisible, is a good AoE and even reduces enemy armor. If you put the augment it's a quick healing too

Quiver for the Cloak? So you and your team don't always have to crouch spam. If you have the mod space, you could also remove "death by status proc" from the list of potential hazards for long runs via Empowered Quiver.

Edit: Honestly, I struggle to see anything worth replacing on my Octavia.

Here's an idea... Well of Life. Pop that on an enemy within the area of her 1, and see if it doesn't cause healing pulses.
Mind Control an enemy within the pulses of her 1 to see if you don't get a Super powerful ally.
Pull to yank people into the area. Ensnare or Larva could also, draw enemies in.
Silence might also round out her kit for being either noisy or quiet... could be invis and inaudible if she's a regular all around use frame for you.
Mainly your build will most likely have high STR and DUR, so there are some you can rule in, like Elemental Ward.
What I'd be really curious to see, is if Shock Trooper, Nourish, or Smite Infusion add any damage to her 1..

A good octavia is always invisible, keeping up that buff is very easy.

You’d lose Mallet synergy and Amp multiplier replacing Resonator.  Worth thinking about if you use them all together.

Warcry idea is interesting, Breach Surge feedback would be worthwhile if someone decides to try it.

I have thought in:

- Rest and Rage --> want to use Rage so enemies hit the mallet faster and enemies will be vulnerable (50% or more) With augment, the effect is spreaded... I think it's very interesting.

- Pillage --> overshields, status cleanse and permanent armor reduction (not 100% but it's accumulative).

- Warcry --> great for speed attack buff... other than that it does not offer much (not very convinced about this one).

- Shuriken --> great for slash procs and with augment armor is 100% stripped (not permanently I think).

I didn't even think about the augment! OH man! That's savage. ❤️

I like the Rage/Frenzy idea as well, other than budgeting the augment.  Too bad Partitioned Mallet is not an Exilus.  All three could be a strong combination as well.

Dispensary (Protea) is what I've put on all of my loadouts replacing Resonator (which I never use as it defeats the point of holding my objective if it's spazzing all over the shop), and it's wonderful. Constantly resupplies energy so I can throttle down Efficiency and focus on my various other builds (Balanced / High Strength + Normal Range / Balanced Strength + Massive Range). It also opens up a lot more interesting possibilities for the Primary slot, hint hint. 🙂

Dispensary also means you can put Energy Conversion on there and replace Empower, still getting the +50% power strength, because you control when you get energy orbs. As per:

50% free power strength is very good imo. That's how I will play her.

As far as nourish goes, I've noticed that it can affect abilities like Exalted Blade and Overload. Overload is pretty interesting since it essentially turns Volt into a mini saryn - it becomes corrosive dmg

Petitioned mallet overall isn't worth it as while it doubles the potential damage output, the 2 mallets do not share their damage outputs, and it quarters the coverage per mallet, with them having half radius. Generally you want radar on exilus

This is good news. I was thinking about a corrosive discharge volt and a viral frost. Looks like Grendel just became useful.

Would be great if it was though, I’ve found it decent to close off a room or cover two capture points.  That said it’s subpar.

Personally, I typically run Power Drift in exiles and then Radar via Instinct.  I don’t think that’s base polarity though.

Thoughts on Rage?

little update: breach surge on octavia does NOT work, as the radiation procs and what appears to be a blinding effect keep the enemies from shooting at her mallet.

How about if it was Mallet + Resonator? The aggro should be forced over Rad proc.
