Void damage hurts Xaku

I've know Xaku has very low survivability but I've wonder why I randomly die even when all the target's are dead. I went to the Simulacrum using the phantasm and Xata's Whisper I shot a lvl 100 arrid heavy gunner  with its primary fire while standing next to it. Then I died from my own damage.

 

Its bad enough void damge is weak to what counts and that it doesn't have the standard 6s proc timer and is nerfed to 3s. Even worse that Xata's Whisper doesn't work with grasp  of lohk or deny, but to know that your own ability kills you? Its a very very broken warframe.
