PLOT TWIST: Helminth System Bankrupts Veterans

(XBOX)DarknessZeref

Question

So on the Heart of Deimos launch thread I held the opinion that lower MR players might harm themselves needlessly attempting to use Helminth. What I didn't see coming was tons of Youtubers and Veterans attempting to force-feed Helminth to Rank 10, just to find themselves bankrupted from years of resource grinding. Now this can be circumvented by subsuming Warframes, taking your time and generally not forcing things within 48 hours- but the resource costs are still ridiculous. I am MR 29, started playing during the Twitch drop campaigns of 2017 and have about 2300-2400 hours in-game. Here's what I'm looking at right now

Helminth Rank 4
Calx
Asterite 4871/5000 (Can't afford)
Nullstones 534/225 (Can do twice)
Pheromones
Bracoid 1627/1000
Trachons 33581/10000
Pustrels 174939/15000
Bile
Cryotic 16,065/3000
Fresnels 1670/1000
Isos 10061/400
Somatic Fibers 32/10
Copernics 137376/15000

I'd like to underline this by saying if you aren't me or similar to me, you do not have anywhere near this many railjack resources and as you can see, 10 feeds of any of them would deplete my entire supply and in particular, months of grinding with a Mk3 ship didn't net me enough for a single asterite feed! I understand some of them and didn't highlight every ridiculous cost, but this definitely needs a revision. I'm noticing placing powers on frames costs more than you think, since it depletes your Helminth's built up resources as well.

Heart of Deimos is for Veterans. The mechs scale in isolation bounties, making solo play daunting for new tenno. The Helminth System is locked behind levels of grind locked behind other levels of grind. Then once you get it, it laughs at whatever puny pile of resources you consider to be a "mountain" and demands impossible amounts in multiple cases.

I'm sure someone's reading this and thinking, well how does this fit in Players helping Players? I'm helping you, me and every other tenno when I say BEWARE Helminth's Hunger. Will DE look into this?

meh.

17,328,129/ 15,000 Alloy Plates

49,793/30 Grokdul

17,630/50 Iradite

20,916/50 Ganglions

23,568,067/20,000 Ferrite

All for 3% respectively. I can go on. 5k hours, Playing on and off since mid 2015. I don't see me in any issue to reach Rank 10 even if I subsume none frame

Veterans, sure, no, it is more like who invested more time in Railjack which is not as old and not counts as Veteran.

I will sitl lignore this whole update for good, i am fed up by this messures of grind and desperate attemtps to keep something new releveant only to drop it afterwards, makign us feed Railajck Resources makes Railajck not more relevant, it only needs more farming but not makes Railjack better with the same repetitive missions.

Only... Its meant to be a resorce sink, its meant to take 'bloated harkonen bittervet' amounts of resorces.

Its meant to be a thing that we work at not finish in a week.

Issues of Rail jack being content light and undeveloped so seldom run are distinct from this issue. Though I am liking the gradual connectivity that needing thing from place Y in place Q grants.

It's a resource sink.

A resource sink is a system in a game intended to take resources out of an economy, in an attempt to counterbalance the hyperinflation that's inherent to video game loot economies, where new items can drop infinitely.

This in turn helps ensure that the resources themselves remain valuable, and from there, a viable reward. This is in contrast with accretion-based design, which is where old, hyperinflated currencies or resources are rendered useless by new ones (which is the system Warframe has been using largely since PoE - I think it showed up before then, of course, but not as widespread)

The way todo this seems to be to NEVER use rail jack resources (10K titanium!?) or anything from Deimos that you may need for any new Kitguns and Mechs... and simply wait and let the helminth get hungry again for nano spores, salvage and what ever else you may have lots of.

Players who have got to Rank 10 already will be missing their inventory. Rank 8 (Sentient Appetite) seems to help reduce the cost, so levelling it up to 8 before mass infusing all your frames should more efficient and using it overtime is probably what's intended.

Resources used for Bile are what I think I may need to farm, although having somewhere to dump argon crystals that would otherwise expire is actually great.
