Can we just stop with the "day" and "night" cycle nonsense

It was cute the first time around but right now it only serves to waste people time. I don't want to have to schedule my play time. I want to do a try vault and have 1 hour to play , that should be just fine , logged in accepted the bounty , left the gate , opens the clock and 30 minute to fass. Guess I will abort now and go play something else because I can't risk playing another bounty and loosing the proper time to start a mission.

If you want to give a mission a time limit just give it a good old countdown , there no need for a fancy "day" and "night " cicle.

Agreed wholeheartedly. Of all the annoyances DE build into their game mechanics, the day/night timegating has got to be the most pointlessly aggravating. All it serves to do is lock content part of the time and force players to play on the game's schedule. Warframe is full of "appointment mechanics," but most of them at least give you some leeway. Daily Standing Caps are limiting, but at least you have a whole day to reach them at your leisure. Baro is limiting, but at least he sticks around for a couple of days and we have a couple of weeks to stock up on ducats. Crafting timers are annoying, but at least I can claim my items at any point after they're built, even a week or a month later.

Cetus had the excuse of "pseudo-raids" with Eidolons. You time-gate content in order to ensure that a critical mass of players are available for quick matchmaking. Well, Fortuna proved this false since the Profit-Taker Orb can be done at any arbitrary point in the cycle and there's never a shortage of people for it. However, Deimos doesn't even have that. It has no pseudo-raids that require large amounts of public matchmaking (not that that's a legitimate design). Day/Night here exists just to waste our time and make certain things artificially more confusing and more difficult to get. That's it - it's listless busywork.

I'm in full agreement. Stop it with the day/night cycles, please.

I couldn't agree more. Day and night cycle really needs to be changed.

The main reason being that the eidolon community is probably the most toxic community in warframe. I've never had a worse time or felt worse than playing with people who are caught up in try-harding/speed-running hydro runs.
That toxicity is driven by how the night cycle operates which lead to players gatekeeping other players out of doing eidolons with them because they wanted to maximize the number of runs they can clear in the time given so they only want to play with the "best" players.

Just allow people to queue in like Isolation Vault and cap it at 3 hydrolysts for a bonus

But you wouldn't want to have the Eidolons be out and about all the time. Having them come and go is more interesting for the area as well. As much as people talk about being interrupted while mining or fishing, it'd be worse if you had vomvalysts or Terry bothering you all the time as a newer player. I'm certainly no tridolon expert, I always play a support Trinity and deal with healing, lures, and voms and don't really shoot at the eidolons. Look for people posting 'casual tridolon' in recruiting and ignore the ones that post they're forming a 3/4/5X3 group.

Yeah that's why i said it would be nice if it was similar to how Isolation vaults work on deimos. The only issue then is we still need night time to fish, so my idea isnt completely sound

Do you know why the cycle exist? Time gating. If DE allows players to hunt Eidolons all of the time arcanes will be completely worthless. I wouldn’t be surprised if DE moved arcanes to other time gated activities if DE let us hunt Eidolons all of the time regardless of cycle.

I hate time gates too, but I see this as a necessary evil. Don’t want players no lifing your content to finish all of it in 1 day.
 

Before you mention “Scarlet Spear already ruined it!!”. Please check present arcane prices again.

What does the mmo community have to do with it? Only BDO has a similar system, but it doesn't stop you from farming at any time, because it only gives a minor bonus.

Thought DE had that figured out on Fortuna , they did not affect any activity that required a lot of time commitment so it was pretty good because it concentrated the fishing table. But Deimos proved me really wrong , what bothers me the most is on POE at least we are well informed about the you have to finish this during the night , same cannot be said about Deimos.

People would be way less toxic if they just lost 5 minutes because of noob instead of having to way 1 hour

Other forms of time gates already exist and they can add more of they want. No need to make people schedule play time that much. Look at isolation vaults , most of the mission time is unskipable dialog and wait the timer segments.

In real life even Jupiter, which spins around its' axis the fastest in the solar system, still takes 10 hours for a complete rotation. There's an inherent absurdity to all day/night cycles in games when they're so sped-up they only highlight the artificiality of the environment.

It's yet more reasons why Kamurocho is far more immersive than Los Santos ever has been, because it doesn't exist in accelerated fake time that's in far too much of a hurry to breathe in a sunset or a rainfall. What we need is hours of rainstorm on the Plains of Eidolon, something where the environmental effects get a chance to show how good they are, not an hour of accelerated fake time clumsily gating content.

 

And in case of Warframe, the key element is that all the day/night cycles do is waste your time. Especially with Eidolons.

Yeah, Orb Vallis' "day/night" cycle I thought was pretty good. It affected relatively few things and - crucially - was really fast. If I'm not mistaken, it's 6 minutes of hot and 20 minutes of cold. Still somewhat disproportionate, but plenty fast enough to wait it out. In the Cambion Drift, by contrast, Cetus rules apply - 100 minutes of Fass to 50 minutes of Vome. If you happen to need Vome for something but logged in towards the start of Fass, well... You're SOL. Now granted, this isn't AS bad as in the Plains of Eidolon since... You know, you don't have the titular Eidolons to worry about. The only difference between Fass and Vome near as I can tell is what animals show up roaming around and most of those you can "force" with Echo Lures and fish bait. I don't know if the synthetic Fass/Vome fish bait works to attract fish of the "wrong" cycle like the raw Fass/Vome viscera does, but it would make sense.

Point being, there's no point in having a day/night cycle in the Cambion Drift, other than "for the sake of consistency" I guess.

Are there any "night" exclusive enemies in fortuna or deimos. Played quite a few hours on them and I'm yet to notice. Having a Insta fail on vault because a worm ejacutlated on another one on a unrelated dispute on the surface is just irritating.

Outside of earth , it does not make sense. Venus takes like 120 days to finish a single rotation.

See the reason why DE put time gates like these is to create item scarcity to drive values up. Isolation Vault has no time gates at all, sure unskippable dialogs and time segments exist but they offer little in gating content from players. Look at the mech set, it’s now 10 platinum per set due how much parts are there in circulation due to players can farm whenever the heck they please. I won’t be surprised that Necramech Streamline will be almost worthless in a week or two.

I doubt DE will change open world cycle anytime soon. Maybe ever. Eidolons offers high value market items. If DE wants to remove time gate from them they have to move arcanes somewhere else or they’ll face a very huge backlash.

RIght, when arcanes dropped in price with Scarlet Spear you mean? And they said it will come back, so will always drop when it does.

Also, most arcanes are still crap, they need rebalancing, onyl very view are worth something anyway, all need the same effort this is not even a ABC rotation, you still can get crap with all 3 Eidolons done, Reminds me of the old Void, 3x Orokin Cells in Rota C, those were the good old days, right?
