Steel path Affinity less than normal game

Hi,

I was testing ranking up on stream today and in the void on Mot in 5 mins of time I got more "XP" and grew in levels  faster than anywhere in the steel path. 

 

Steel Path:

 Should the Steel path give more "XP" more killing enemies? they are higher level the more XP right?

If the Steel Path is a New Game+ or Hard more then you should more of everything. By everything I mean XP, recourse and Item drops. 

I want to be able rank up my Warframes and weapons on the steel path rather than going back to the normal to do it. because that just feels backwards.

 

Test I did was:

5 min on Mot using the same gun and the same warframe

normal strun wraith only

132 kills

9,723 Affinity

Mot on Steel Path

92 kills

2,680 Affinity

 

Please help

is it just me? or does the steel not feel a "real" hard mode/NG+? I am not enemy damage, the way its structured. They way it is now there's really no reward for playing the steel path other than to make better builds.
