Marcuspolomintus
So, I go off to kill the Profit Taker, with my Archgun, doing some 130k damage to it and when I get to the Eidolon Plains, I strip off the shields and do some 900 damage. 🙄 Would someone please explain to me why it does SO much damage to the Profit Taker and his minions (the other two spider like enemies that also attack you during the fight) and yet it pretty much scratches the paint on the Eidolons? And yes, I had it with Radiation damage for both. Why is the Archgun utterly useless against the Eidolons?
Marine027
What weapon you use? AoE damage can get partly absorbed on Eidolons on the non damge parts, while Profit Taker has a whole area you hit with it.
taiiat
AoE Damage doesn't work very well vs Eidolons. in particular, a Projectile can only deal Damage to an Eidolon once, if it has both an Impact and Explosion, generally the Explosion will be ignored. Opticor is a good example of this, where its Explosion generally overrides the main beam. Eidolons have a pretty major amount of Special DR - they take considerably reduced Damage from all sources. both on their Shields and Health. Archguns are not "useless" vs Eidolons. they'll just deal less Damage than normal versus them, but the same rules apply to all Weapons.
