That large systems they showed at Tennocon touting infinite combinations and unlimited exploration? Yeah, that's already dead for most players.

EDIT 1: I am just about to hit MR 24, have over 1.5k hours in the game, I have played since revives cost plat. I am a veteran in every since of the word and I say the cost is to high for subsuming.

EDIT 2: Turns out my play time might only be about a thousand hours. I was going by what steam said rather than my ingame profile.

It's expensive because it's aimed at people who already have too many resources, who can afford it, to make resources mean something again.

This was originally meant for people that have played for awhile and had excess resources and credits. The requirements were lowered to include newer people like you.

It's balanced so that sycophant whales will burn their resources and thank them for the pleasure. From DE's perspective better to make it an obscene grind and then "listen to the community" and revisit the numbers. If it was the other way everyone would have the helminth to rank 10 in 2 days and there's no putting that genie back in the bottle.

This exactly. They said pretty much right from the reveal that it was a system geared toward long-time players. But once again, they listened to people whimperwhining about how things weren't friendly toward casual or new players- again, the entire point- and lowered the starting requirements so now we get posts like this; people who weren't supposed to have access to it yet complaining that they can't take full advantage of it right out of the gate.

It's a resource sink.

It costing a lot of resources is the point. It's there to try wrangle the hyper-inflated stockpiles of the playerbase down to a level where they're worth something again.

If you can't afford those resources, then don't use those resources. It takes 24 hours to consume a Warframe, by which point Helminth will be hungry for those resources again - or at least not full on them.

• because you shouldn't be using roar on nova ultra speed (10% power strenght), but instead, dispensary, Toxin Elemental Ward or any other skill that rely on power duration
• because if 2 people uses roar in same party, both won't stack, so it needs to be an bit more creative
• because if you put Roar on loki, means our definition of insanity is updated sucessfully
• because this system is meant for players that has time and resources to spend and some ideas for the mix, being meta, fun or whatever follows its desire
• because the helminth's hunger goes an bit from red to green after each daily reset, so you can just wait an week before feeding it again with the same resources that he said that was bad for him previously (its an long term system)

By playing the missions that give those resources, without playing them for that purpose only. Over time, you'll have them without ever realizing it! 

Sure, you could go for farming only with a good squad, endless runs etc (usually by having  podcasts playing in the background for me ^^), which you'll gwt what you want. 

My point is, take it slow, or a the very least, farm only the ones you absolutely need. As others have stated above, this is a veteran focused feature, but you'll get there ^^

Judging from the comments in this thread. Either these people have not gotten the segment yet or you are right and they just enjoy the CBT that DE dishes out.

Unless the system is random I can see the thing asking for rare resources most of the time, that is, the common ones are usually a problem but that thing eats cryotic, argon and mutagen samples.

There seems to be a cult who will defend bad game design decisions no matter what. 

I subsumed a frame out of curiosity yesterday and won't be going back into the room unless they significantly lower those ridiculous costs. But hey, it's fine if someone who's played the game for 5 years has to blow everything they ever collected to rank up the helminth right...

The more progressed one is and, for once it actually matters, the higher ones mastery rank is the less value resources have. Helminth gives a purpose to resources for those who no longer have any use for them. And when, or even if, those who have really massive stockpiles start to run dry suddenly running regular farming missions for resources becomes a thing again which such people may have not had any reason to do for years now.

A proper late-game resource sink is a good thing.

I plan on putting on her "B" loadout and swapping out blind rage for intensify. It will make her efficient and a better team player.

The system is designed in such a way that rushing it is punished. Cool your jets, and it costs less.

I'm onto my third subsumption and my stockpiles have barely been dented as of yet.

Helminth is more of a resource incinerator, when people ask for a resource sink they usually expect to turn those resources into something else that is not just credits, this is almost like the Hema all over again, people would rather have a batch foundry but what did they get? 100x piza blueprints.

Argon crystal farm for bile. You can run steel path and farm steel essence at the same time. At least that's what I do. Have not had a problem with bile since I test builds in SP Mot after adding subsume abilities.

The costs might be lowered over time, there might even be a script to refund something. They might balance some of the categories or resource that seem a little out of whack to some players.

But don't expect it to go too low. This is supposed to be a resource sink for players with a lot of extra stuff.

It can still be a resource sink (I dont know why you think that is a good thing, but you do you). I just want the subsume cost gone. Make the cost of abilities 100x more if you are into that kind of masochistic punishment.
