schilds
There is already a decent template for this bounty in normal excavations, to differentiate (more naturally) based on player capabilities. In a normal excavation you can do anywhere from one to three excavators at a time, depending on how much you want to (or are capabie of) pushing things (e.g. solo vs group, random vs defence frame, etc). That kind of differentiation is better at sustaining interest across a diverse playerbase. Ok, having played a bit more (and noticed you get more excavators in a group) there seem to be two issues: a) The excavators drop straight away (not after the player approaches a zone) b) When solo, you only get one excavator at a time even if you can handle more. Normal starchart excavation missions differentiate more naturally. Also, could we have a Steel Path variant.
pook-pook
The time to reward difference between excavators and the other endless bounty (I forget the name of it, but the non-excavator one) is crazy, and partly due to our inability to speed up excavation based on our capability as you describe. As a solo I'd love to be able to just pop both at once, since I'm fully capable of looking after them and otherwise often just standing around bored. schilds
I've always thought Excavation (star chart) to be one of the better designed/thought out mission types. Players can find a level of activity that suits them fairly naturally, just by how they (choose to) play in a mission.
