FourthEchelon Posted September 1, 2020 Share Posted September 1, 2020 I Know there has been a lot of commotions about Conservation in Deimos and Mining. Personally i'm not writing this post to debate its good or bad. Although i would point out one oblivious fact, Given deimos's already red ambience, has made conservation a bit harder compared to PoE and Orb Vallis. Changes I would like to suggest to conservation Call Point Areas : Instead of having to follow/track a trail from Point A to point B, It would be better to Have a General call areas. Like lets say a marked area in "The Abscess" (whic you can find by sounding the respective echo lure , In this case lets take a vulpaphyla ). So lets say vulpahyla is fairly common in this area, with a bit of searching we can easily find it and capture it with maybe a optional cooldown or limits on spawn to prevent over farming. This also allows the player to know where to look for the animals instead of having to pray to the god about finding it before it find you and flees or just can never be found (**Looking at you Avichae**) Species Rarity : Different rarity of the species can be found in different cycles. Again taking vulpaphyla as a example, lets say Sly Vulpaphyla (common) is found in the callpoint areas during FASS (longer cycle) and Crescent Vulpaphyla (uncommon) during the Vome (shorter cycle). This allows players to plan timings for the hunts. Further for the rarer version the Panzer Vulpaphyla will still need the Pheromone to attract them and on specific timesets as well (for eg, only can be attracted during the fass/vome cycle changes with a 10min toleration before and after the actual cycle) . Tranq Rifle : Similar to Cephalon SImaris's scanner having widget upgrades, i Suggest widget upgrades for the Tranq Rifle as well. First thing tho, The vanilla tranq rifle needs a colour change for Deimos. the orange hue doesnt go well along with the already Red ambience in the cambion drift . Upgrades such as increase mag size , In built echo/sound locator or marker, more potent tranq ammo (lesser shots reqd for certain species which need more than 1 shot) will be good . I know witht these ideas there are obvious Pro's And Con's . I'll Keep updating this pro-con list as we keep goingPROS More immersive and lesser hectic than the current mechanics Planning and co ordinating with friends is much easier. No more having to bleed eyes Tracking the footprints (idk if its only High graphics option issue given there are plenty of grasses masking the footprints) CONS Changes are huge TImes may not be suitable for everyone given sometimes you have to wait for an entire cycle for the next hunt (assuming its FASS and you need something from VOME), and if u forget that, there goes another cycle Changes I would like to suggest to Mining More like a overhaul to make it lesser boring than the current one Mining scanner overhaul : Instea od having our current Mining cutters , we can rather have a scanner which shows the values of ores under us. , so different areas of map have diff ore/gem values, and are unique to each session, so there are no defenite mining hotpsots. So, For example imagine when i run the scanner in a particular point it shows how rich that spot is ( eg. 25% ores 10% gems and 65% rock) . Now for themining aspect , Similar to the current Tier 3 bounty in cambian drift, where its endless excavators defnece, we can call in our own Excavator at that point and we have to defend the excavator for a fixed amount of time, and enemy difficulty may scale with more excavotrs. So basically it mines out oresfor us in the same Ratio of what we scanned for (Imagining out 100, we'd get 25 ores and 10 gems, and rarity of them can again depend on the deposit type. I'm basing off this idea from a old game i used to play about 6 years ago . Get to kills mobs outside of bounties which allows passive farming of other node-related resources as well Allows you to hunt for the specific ores/gems with relative ease rather than just dependng on RNG Multiple people can explore quickly to find deposits Which is needed by everyone the most. Like Thaumica, Everyone scans around till we find a spot with a good% of thaumica. Cons No more Passive mining, which may not be liked by people who just prefer going in solo and mine peacefully. Huge changes compared to whats present already Also im a fairly new Forums user, And english isnt my first language, So kindly point me in the right direction in case of errors. It’s so obvious that DE has already acknowledged the issues and suggested what they are working on to fix it. Point one sounds good. By passive, i meant the fact that no combat is involved, my intention was to tell how some people prefer having to mine in peace and quiet rather than the excavator method i suggested about. Yeah i heard about the fix, Just wanted to put it there again anyway. True, Thinking backwards yes, point 2 may need some changes, as you said it would become trivial just having to fly around at set phases to Capture those specific rarities, Maybe the same way as the current echo lures functions, we do have to still use the lure to make Them spawn. so just flying wouldnt help you. *Or something cruel like, rarer ones don'tspawn when you're in AW* xD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

WindKitsune Posted September 1, 2020 Share Posted September 1, 2020 I'm one of the people who like going solo and farming peacefully. As with everything else, why not make it an option? If people want to put down excavators, they can. If we want to mine peacefully with our drills, we can. Maybe we could buy excavators for faster mining/higher output of resources? Eclipse_Flash Posted September 1, 2020 Share Posted September 1, 2020 The mining one is really interesting, but I would rather prefer it to be regular mining because once almost everyone is done with Cambion Drift, hardly anyone will go into to large groups and mine. I would rather have DE fix mining on the drift since the 25% of the veins cant be mined because they are either through objects, walls or those spore thingy.
