(PSN)GwendolynK-
I've been playing Warframe for awhile now and like me, a lot of other people like to stand out. Yeah, we've got skins for our Warframes and stuff. Weapon skins, colour pallets. But a good idea would be to change the interior of our Orbiter. A few updates ago, we were able to invite people to our orbiter. If you don't have decorations, your orbiter is going to look plain. Maybe people want the old look of the Orbiter back, maybe people want something new. Maybe we, if this is taken into consideration in the future can have different interior based on the Orbiter (like scimitar) or purchasable ones. I'd like if this went in-depth. What I mean is the ability to change the "Navigation area", the Tenno room, the personal quarters, Arsenal Area, and maybe even infested room. I love standing out and when people enter my ship, I want them to feel like they're some place new, not just the same place with different colours and decorations. (XBOX)KawaiiAsa
I'd love this... the problem is all the decorations that are currently in your ship, since they would need to all be removed and returned to your inventory. Still, maybe for each ship you own you get its interior to run on any ship (similar to air support), that way people can still use their cool looking ships while having the interior they like. Or at least let us equip the old interior designs (such as the one with no skylight, etc). but, a few ideas on what each ships layout could be: Liset - the layout we currently have Mantis - a mainly vertical layout, mainly being one room with a small spiral-staircase design that leads to 3 more floors, first the personal quarters, then the tenno room, then the helminth infirmary. Navigation, companions, mods, foundry, relics, market, codex, news, syndicates, conclave and the arsenal (will just refer to all this as 'the essentials' from now on) are all found on the first floor, which has a massive skylight roof all along it Nightwave - identical to the layout of the Liset. Scimitar - Similar to Liset's layout, however this has no up and down ramps. where navigation is are 2 tiny doorways (roughly warframe sized), that lead to personal quarters and helminth infirmary, tenno room stays where it is. Xiphos - starts with a small circular room with 'the essentials' lining the walls of it. this then has 2 small pathways coming off on each side leading in a horseshoe like shape, with one end being the personal quarters, the helminth infirmary on the other and then at the very back of the horseshoe being the tenno room. all the orbiters could have different visuals inside, like Nightwaves having a generally darker interior but filled with lights. Well remember that your Landing Craft isn't your Orbiter- your Orbiter is a larger vessel that serves as your home base, which your Landing Craft docks with to transport you to and from mission objectives. This is mostly expounded on in obscure lore and gallery art, though, so I shouldn't blame you for not knowing. We were actually supposed to get an End Of Mission Results animation of our Landing Craft docking with our Orbiter at some point, but it never really surfaced. Heck, if you look out the window in your Living Quarters, you'll see they haven't really modeled your Orbiter's exterior, either.
Helstiir
To show what exactly cobalt313 means, here are a series of images plus as an extra, a video showcasing the animation in question. these are to showcase that what he says is true, and hopefully you'll be sure to spread this information to others in the future so they too are informed about this seemingly forgotten fact. Finally is an edit I made to the first image to point out where exactly the liset is on the orbiter because alot of people I've met can't find it Finally, the footage of the animation It is both sad and ironic, seeing as it is pretty far along the animation was, but it seems it had been canned. Edit: I hope that this information can help you get a really good idea of how you'd like customizing the orbiter to be, and I also as I said I hope that you'll spread this information to others. perhaps it'll be something they will look into again one day 😅
Cobalt313
I too am sad that we didn't get that docking animation instead of that team pose shot on the End of Mission screen. Perhaps the existence of the latter is a sign that there is hope yet still.
