Wisp's Sol Gate Allowing Weapon to be Fired

I found out that possibly using a subsumed ability (I only have Empower subsumed onto Wisp, have not tried other abilities) before using Wisp's 4 allows her to fire whatever weapon she was holding before casting the ability. It does not occur when I use her other abilities.
