Mutagen- How does it affects companion, and tips

So I am planning on working to build some infested pets but I was wondering how each mutagen affects the companion. I figured the proto shield ones affect shields, and the alloy armor ones affect armor but Idk what the other ones really affect. And since we're on the topic which mutagen do you recommend on the companions?

More like, they change the type of shield, armor and flesh.

Antigen determines the first polarity and appearance

Mutagen affects the type of shield or armor it will have.

So Robotic will make the health have robotic resistances, and proto shield just gives the shield proto resistances?
