Can Soma Prime get a look over?

With all respect. Kitguns are vastly better and available at lower mastery rank. Resources and rep grind are negligible for comparison with Soma Prime acquisition. Kinda proves pointlessness of Mastery Rank mechanics aside of gating damn content.

And no, you can't w+m1 with soma. Spray and pray does not work on any tileset aside of generic corridors.

Edit: to think of it, everything boils down to playstyle. I feel most automatic weapons are lacking in different ways.

I tried the augment with empowered munitions and it's excellent.

the augment and this ability make the weapon kill about twice as fast.

soma prima was already close to baza prime in performance, so now it's arguably better than baza prime, or at least as good, all things considered (some advantages, some disadvantages)

now, you don't really see people complaining baza prime is underpowered do you?

that's Warframe for you, the only thing that is consistent is the inconsistency.

sure, most 'just a Gun' bullet hoses are essentially all the same and without any sort of personality or distinctive features that make them feel different from each other.

How did you assess that?

I compared them by doing one round of ESO and see how many kills I got and the results showed that Acceltra is far above the two on for this purpose. Against single targets like a boss I haven't made a comparison.

Acceltra is a quasi AoE weapon while Baza and Soma are bullet hoses. For clearing trash mobs there's no comparison in my experience. BTW I put Hunter Munitions on my Acceltra.

125 without multishot. you should not have 1.0 multishot but 2.6-2.8 multishot from stacking split chamber with multishot on riven (that's the standard HM viral build anyway, with a riven)

additionally you can do get more stacks from hitting multiple targets using punch through (standardly present via Shred / Primed Shred).

additionally you can rely on the new Energized Munitions ability, and Mirage clones

only by combining some of these factors (multishot and punch through should be seen as a given however) does the mod become good, and along with it the weapon

in your case, without a riven, it's not a viable option as you don't have enough multishot, and no punch through, to squeeze out real potential from the mod, so you can't really replace anything

Remember punch through and multi shots count as individual hits. Thus Shred with +1.2 punch through and split chamber .9 multishot with 5 enemies in a hallway = about 50-70 hits. 1 shot could do 10 hits if everything aligned.
