What happens if Tencent touch DE? From what I know that Tencent already got their hands off against LoL, Epic's games and Path of Exiles.
Loza03
Source? I've only ever seen this reported in one place, and noticeably it was not an official one. Until an official announcement (or so many sources other than that one that the writing's clearly on the wall), I'm going to hold an air of skepticism. Monolake
Maybe they will finally hire a gamedesigner so the 4th 'open world' wouldn't be the same stale mining/fishing/animals and a resource mess with barely any new gameplay and frames wouldn't take years to rework. Fallen77
It most likely won't. And even if it did, we randoms on the forum don't know anything about what's going on inside, nor can we do anything about it. Kinda tired of people romanticizing all this. DancingJoker
Tencent has made a huge amount of money by acquiring properties that are doing well and then just sitting back and watching their cash roll in. I doubt there will be any serious change unless DE somehow stops making them money.
RiceHat_
You know what I want on Warframe? Servers, proper servers. This is the change that I want.
Lizzrdd
Not playing Devils Advocate here or anything but when Tencent bought Grinding Gear Games (Path of Exile) there was a HUGE improvement to little QOL features that players had been asking for since beta release. While the head honchos at the original GGG still maintain almost complete control over development. And before anyone brings it up, the loot boxes and all the MTX were already being pushed hard before the purchase. I gotta agree with DancingJoker, and I dont think they are quite the evil empire everyone thinks it is.
RX0ZeroMaru
https://investgame.net/news/tencent-has-acquired-leyou-technologies?rq=TENCENT According to a report by InvestGame, Chinese gaming giant Tencent acquired Hong Kong game developer and operator Leyou Technology for US$1.4 billion through its subsidiary Image Frame Investment. Leyou Technology has the "Warframe" Canadian R&D team Digital Extremes, and the "Dirty Bomb" R&D team Splash Damage, which are familiar to players. Leyou Technology has also obtained such as "Transformers", " "Civilization" and other IP authorization to develop games. MouadSaqui
This could be good for warframe, I don't know why people are upset... this game needs dedicated servers so desperately, for such things as cross save, cross play, no host immigration, DE needs more funding, I dunno about you guys, but this looks good news to me... I hope DE benefit from tencent the most
(PSN)robotwars7
it won't affect us mere mortals. as long as people don't try to kick the hornet's nest for no reason on twitter, you won't even know they are there. Tencent owns DE, but DE still owns Warframe, and until that changes, nothing will happen.

Tuskilion
Tencent buys Leyou becuz Tencent want that hot stock money and dividend. Do people really think Tencent going to take control of the game's future path? you guys must be really dumb. On the other hand, most games under Tencent are doing reall well, even those that go heavy on microtransaction. I mean you seriously worry that Crossfire's gun skin could ruin your game? or you think the yearly package from Dungeon fighter Online can take the game down? lemme help you put on your tin foil hat.
