mechs after the recent hotfix

So a simple question for those who had a chance to test it. My necramech is going to be ready today in the foundry and I'm wondering if the bug that I saw on youtube that it doesn't retain xp if you don't use a certain method still exists?
Can I level my mech while fighting other mechs in the vaults and not loose all xp at the end even if I exit and enter it multiple times?

based on patch note on today hotfix

if you watch youtube that uploaded yesterday or later then it SHOULD BE fixed by now, gonna try it tonight to see if its actually got fixed tho.
