Railjack sortie

1st mission - Railjack

  • approach to a large Grineer base from space, a new Railjack mission type where you have to cross a very large distance, and are hindered by devices similar to ones in the Balor Fomorian encounter; at the end of the mission, the squad enters the base, and the Railjack autonomously joins with the Orbiter to protect it from any attack, with it's shields.

2nd mission - Base interior

  • an assault mission, like the one in Koro (or simply a more elaborate sabotage mission); results in base destruction, and the squad escapes in grineer pods to the planet surface (orbiter isn't available because it isn't safe)

3rd mission - Surface

  • a complex survival-spy-sabotage hybrid mission on the surface; goal is to disable some surface machinery in order to make sure the sky is clear for the Landing Craft to come down and extract

4th mission - Archwing

  • This is a space map with the full Orbiter model (which is huge). Railjack is inoperative because it is docked with the Orbiter (only one Orbiter is there, representing Orbiters of all the players in the squad; a bit of a leap of logic, but also a necessary abstraction). The team has extracted, and is inside the docked Railjack (the Orbiter can't be entered). The Orbiter has been attacked by a Grineer capital ship, and it's drive has been damaged with a powerful weapon; The squad must defend the Orbiter in Archwing by fighting their way (against RJ enemies) to the Grineer ship in order to destroy it; the squad breaks into the Grineer ship (still in Archwing), where something similar to a Balor Fomorian encounter takes place (the enemies inside are AW enemies), and destroys it, thus protecting the Orbiter.

the main idea here is to unite all the game modes, the normal mode, railjack and archwing, into a coherent scenario.

the above would be a Grineer scenario. Each faction could have it's own scenario (even the infested), and which one is active could have something to do with existing mechanics around invasions.
