Inability to use Nidus's "Parasitic link" on a Trinity's "Well of Life" Target when subsumed.

     I have noticed that Nidus is unable to cast parasitic link on a well of life target, and I am not sure this is working as intended. 

           Trinity can use link and connect to the well of life target, and for all practical purposes both Trinity and Nidus's link ability work the same. Both redirect damage to linked targets, both grant damage mitigation, they only seem to differ in percentages of damage reduced. 

          I have subsumed Trinitys well of life onto Nidus and assumed I would be able to link to the target, but it is impossible as any particular enemy can only have a parasitic link or well of life, not both.

             Is this an intended interaction or just an overlooked aspect of subsuming and ability onto a different frame?
