A quick idea for modernizing armour

First, make armour stripping work on either the armour value or the damage reduction of the armour, whichever gives a lower final result. For example, instead of Corrosive stripping 80% of ~27,000 armour (level 175 Corrupted Heavy Gunner) at maximum stacks, make it reduce the damage reduction value (of ~98%) by 80%. This changes the post-Corrosive damage reduction from ~95% to around 19.5%.

Second, make bonus damage on headshots / weakpoint shots True damage. Since most weakpoint multipliers are 2.0x, this means a weapon would deal one instance of its damage as regular damage, and a second instance as True damage. Or, for 1.5x and 3.0x multipliers, their equivalents.

End result is that armour still scales to provide increasing challenge, but means of armour stripping remain effective at high armour values, and there's a skilful alternative for dealing with armour in the same way there's a skilful alternative to dealing with shield gating.

The never should've removed armor stripping in the first place. Viral is way better than corrosive these days but if not total armor stripping I definitely like your idea.

As it stands against high levels even max corrosive does nearly nothing. So reducing total armor damage resistance instead would make corrosive useful like it used to be. 

Also they should make puncture, gas and impact more useful for high level. Puncture procs should ignore all armor, gas should stack endlessly again, and impact should permanently reduce armor instead of parazon finishers.

They should change everything that strips armor so that it strips 100% of the armor on the first application.

We have multiple abilities that do exactly that so why make so many other abilities lag behind? It isn't like casting an ability and then shooting an enemy to kill them makes the game too easy or is at all outside of how the game normally works.
