OtosanOokami Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Coming from a disabled person with a hand that went through a press... (and yes I know I can go into the settings and flip the tap/hold abilities, but I don't want to make the changes universally to all controls ) The original Mag bubble is meant to be targeted on fast moving enemies, so... Would it not make more sense for the ranged version to be the fast tap, versus holding to activate? It's now a bit more difficult to land a Magnetize bubble on a moving target while gliding and flipping. It should be as easy as shooting at the mob. As it stands I'm having to make multiple attempts with long presses to fire it off properly The new ability does look cool, but I'm not getting any real use out of it, and a lot of wasted time trying to fire off the big bubble while the targets move out of sight before the long hold registers. I'd be fine with a Tigris style trigger on the mini-shield, Hold to start, release to fire. Running Magnetized discharge builds is just killing my hand now
Sintag Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Question. If tap-hold abilities are wreaking havoc on your hand, why not bind a secondary key? Since it's (usually) the second ability that's a tap-hold, rebinding Ability 2's second input to something that's easier to reach might prove helpful, not just for Mag but overall. I do agree that the 'invert tap-hold' abilities should be able to be bound on a case-by-case basis instead of universal, but until that happens, this might be a good enough kludge.

I wish I could, but with all the nerve damage I'm basically forced into using Controllers, and I haven't had the money to buy one of the fancier ones with multiple triggers beyond the norm, I could bind the touchpad, but that leaves me trying to reach for a button with my thumb when I need to be spinning that reticle. Also an issue when trying to aim secondary fire weapons, clicking that right analog stick gets very painful. Some nice multibutton/analog rigs out there, (See-Razr Tartarus Pro) but out of my price range with how often things get broken. Would love to have one of those for each hand.

I use it because I too have nerve damage, and while you can't slot an independent action to it, you can set them to activate as one of the other keys would. It's MUCH more comfortable for me when doing things like bullet jumping or as in your case, setting another location for the ability hold/tap. I know that's not the ultimate solution and I think we need much more control over how we bind keys/controllers than we do now but it is a temp fix for me at least.
