What is the point of the necramech?

After seeing rando's play with their necramechs and watching some footage on Youtube, I literally have no idea why anyone would want to build one of these. Most of my Warframes are faster, do more damage, have more tankiness, have access to a jetpack, and can be used in all content instead of a few content isles.

I suspect we've yet to see the target content that would properly utilize these machines.

Although unlike archwings they are buried in a fairly exhausting grind, so maybe they are just stage props.?.?

No one knows and likely DE doesn't even know.

Guess at very least they can check off the pseudo FPS box?

Are they even worth Mastery?  I thought someone who was already maxed out did the math and realized that the mech wasn't contributing Mastery points.

I haven't built my Voidrig yet (needs another day or so in the oven) but I'm pretty certain it contributes 6000 mastery rank points. I first noticed some founders saying they are 3000 (well, 2998) points away from Rank 30 and that could be achieved only if this was the case. I'll be 14998 away from MR30 when I finish with all my items as a non-founder.

I also checked the wiki page https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Mastery_Rank

and it's also mentioned in the list.

Now why this is not listed in the character stat page in-game I don't know. It's probably an omission that's going to get fixed sometime in the future.

Well, i for one welcome our new mecha overlords. I do hope for content relevant especially to them. But i do wonder about them utilised in things like regular missions and wont they just make em a breeze? I dont have a mecha yet so im asking you guis about this.

They still won't dominate the meta. But they are viable in normal gameplay. DE will let them be used in normal missions soon.

Count the Mod slots. Simple Math.   DE has a plan to give us ever-more-powerful Mods that will stack.

Your frames will always be more versatile.  But once the. Nmech Mod library matures, it will be a true tank.

I've created a thread about this last week(or the week before I don't remember).

Aside from a very few individuals who were trying to argue how essential it was(lol) the general consensus was that it was created for variety/fun.

After playing with it for a while I can't seem to argue otherwise. Still seems pointless though. I'd very much appreciate if all that effort went to some other modular weapons.

I'm looking forward to getting the Mausolon. That gun looks like it could be a lot of fun.

The free Mech that comes attached to it looks pretty cool too, I guess.

😎

This man gets it.

I'd suggest the opposite - there's already more mods than the mech can slot, and at least a couple of DE devs have said that the power creep from Corrupted and Primed mods was a mistake they'd take back if they could.  Necramechs are a chance for them to create content that flattens the playing field again.  Don't be surprised if there's a boss that can only be fought in one of the two (or possibly eventually three) models of Necramech.  The bossfight comes with a built-in timer, based on the fact that Necramechs don't heal and can't revive each other.  You have exactly as long as it takes for the boss to chip away your 4300 health through the Lightning Shield to beat it.

My Mirage p/K. Bramma can outgun it anytime. But the thumpy presence, Mausolon dakka dakka and #4 guard barrage are music to my ears and quite addictive.

Just an old Mechwarrior series fan too.

The absence of variants give it the lonely Railjack vibe where everyone else end up with the same build. It is just quite a grind right now with barely customizable mods with the way slots aren't ranked.  It is either a melee or utility build at the moment. So anyone who does not like mecha will frown at it more because it is one bland robot in the end.

Why would anyone bother with a mech when the joints can be oneshot with a sniper? That just seems like extra effort for no gain my dude.

Using the same weapon for the 999th Capture is getting stale. I don't consider 1-2 mouse clicks to deploy the mech and go into guard mode counts as "extra effort".

Necramechs are a fun little gimmick

Gimmick being a key word. As a concept of "They were before the Warframes" is cool, and as an enemy and/or Ai ally they are cool - but as an activity I can see this becoming another forgotten feature that rarely gets updates. Variety is good as long as it serves the core concept of the game.  Necramechs feel like something from Titanfall or Warhammer 40k that should have their own game.

We will see how it progresses in the following year.

LoL

I gotta say that these being risen from the old days are great.

Lore

We keep hoping that all we gather will be used in some lore/gameplay later down the line. Having a storyline where we have to use Mechs to get to a place where our frames and void demons canno get/survive. Imagine a part of Railjack where we have to do Thor in Avengers: Infinity War. Our Necromechs stand in a fissure that they are holding open so we can use our Archwings/K drives to get through to a new area where we meet a new foe to dismember. This is the reason i will one day build my Necro for. Might never happen...but that HOPE it will all come together one day is the reason for me

Same as everything else. Make you grind and invest time in something to keep you coming back/spending money. It serves no other gameplay purpose than that. What's the point of a lot of things the game offers by this point? Notice the theme, stop grinding for what is useless or stop playing and maybe they'll see this path they've been on for a long time isn't helping them and adjust.

It's a new way to play. Also did you know that the mech's exalted weapon is arguably the strongest weapon in the game? We're talking 50% Crit chance, 50% status chance, 3.0x hase crit multiplier, and over 12.000 base AoE damage with no fall off.

you know its gonna get nerfed someday right

It locks you in place. The only place I can see the arquebex shine is in defense mission once mechs can be used there.

However if DE decides to nerf it they probably add a magazine reload or increased energy coat and drain.

Possibly, but I'd be more worried about the other players. Go into a mission and there's some guy with a necramech along, because he can. Either clanking along while everyone else runs, or standing in a defence mission blasting away while everyone else stands by looking bored. Its bad enough when someone whips out an archgun, I think mechs are going to make normal missions a lot less enjoyable when played public.

there's plenty of balance issues in WF already, but we get round those. Mechs, are going to make that balancing act a lot more difficult for DE, they're making a rod for their own backs.
