Panzer Vulpaphyla Bug?

So I recently caught a couple of Panzer Vulpaphyla because I wanted to create one for a pet. Problem is, the game doesn't recognize that I have the tags for them even though I have 4 in my inventory.

Anybody else running into this problem? I can build the other two but the game seems to not recognize that I have captured the Panzer Vulpaphyla. (I even went out and captured another one just to be sure. There's still no checkmark on the Panzer Vulpaphyla when building them.)

Do you actually have a weakened one? Because that's not a bug, you've just captured one you can't turn into a pet.

In order to use any of the Predasites or Vulpaphylas as pets, you need to recover them when they are in a "weakened" state, which means that they have been attacked by the infested (their name will change to reflect this).

If you are using the echo lures after tracking them, the likelihood is that they will not be weakened and therefore cannot be used as pets.

Ahh I see. I've seen the weakened ones lying around. It seems that might be the best way to find them?

No, I just tagged them believing that was enough. But now I know what you're talking about. I've seen weakened ones lying around the Cambion Drift. It seems that running around searching for weakened ones is gonna be the best way to capture them.

You can still use the echo lure and pheromones to try to get the rare ones.  It helps to have a frame like Ivara where you can stay cloaked so you don't startle them and cause them to run away and despawn.  Once the type you want appears, use the Noise Arrow to *attract* any nearby Infested.  Once they do any damage you can use the Sleep Arrow to knock everything out.  Weakened pets still award capture tags, and unlike in the other two open worlds there's no real penalty for "bad" captures - none of the Deimos captures directly reward standing anyway.

I've also caught a few Weakened pets while running bounties but it's much harder if you are teamed - many people prefer to simply spam AoE damage powers which will kill them eventually even with the increased resistance.  And a few will directly attack them "for the lulz."  Plus it's simply not easy to spot a flashing orange Weakened pet when it's surrounded by hordes of wild Infested that mostly *also* glow orange.
