Range on daggers

Even though the intents of latest melee changes was to balance stuff all it did was to nerf the high end and barely buff the low end, by barely buff the low end i mean the range of daggers and generally below 2m base range weapons is still pitiful, what if we give different categories of melees different base values for each stat? u know like shotgun and rifles have different base MS value on a riven and u get much higher values on a shotgun compared to a rifle, so why not do exactly that with different melee categories so u get higher range stats on a riven for your dagger? we could go further and balance all the stats on all categories but i feel like this range one is really needed!

can we please make it happen?

Daggers are really just for stealth kills anyway.

Except they aren't.

Stealth Finisher multipliers for daggers is the lowest out of all weapon categories.
For daggers they get 4x damage on stealth finishers, dual daggers are next lowest at 6x.  Most weapons have 8x and some even have 12x (including hammer....meaning that if you want to use stealth kills hammers are one of the best options!)

Daggers just kinda suck in pretty much every way compared to other weapon types...the only decent dagger is the Karyst Prime....which is a dagger only because DE says so and in pretty much every way acts as a sword (from range to attack speed, and damage, and so on).

Daggers need some disposition love and stop needlessly nerfing the Balla zaw strike. Other than that, they are fine. Stinging Thorn is one of the strongest stances in the game and daggers are among the fastest weapons despite misleading dagger class base attack speeds. Rakta Dark Dagger, Karyst P and Zaw daggers are very strong weapons that compare very favorably to any other melees.

Daggers excel at stacking procs and fast CC and I'll be glad to demonstrate that on an Infested Mobility "Immortal" Harrow using a Rakta Dark Dagger any time. If you are having a problem with dagger range, put on exodia hunt and learn to do fast slams.

I... will have to disagree. What's important on Daggers is kind of linked to the Stances and how you want to deal with things like Heavy or Light attack builds. A lot of people make a big deal out of hitting multiple enemies at once with the longer-range weapons, but that's a matter of approach really, it's something you can either ignore or work around when the thing you want is just to kill something and move on. Are longer-range weapons better at killing lots of enemies in a horde-shooter game? Yes. But that's not the be-all and end-all of the discussion.

For example, the Ether Daggers have a really high base damage and are a really strong light attack weapon because they have a stance that does lots of hits quickly, they have really good base stats (not counting Range) and their Riven disposition is one of the highest in the game. While you don't get the sheer massive range of the pole-arms and other weapons, the daggers can shred enemies just as quickly and work great with any Warframe that can bunch enemies up a little.

Another player noted the Karyst Prime, and that's great because of its amazing Heavy Attack build, where you literally one-click-dead anything on the Steel Path with that thing, and you can use any warframe with decent CC and/or survivability to just wander through missions at your own pace and middle-click on enemies to kill them.

There's also ones with really interesting mechanics, like the Rakta Dark Dagger (which had its Status Chance massively buffed in the melee update so it has a really reliable proc now), which is absolutely brilliant if you want to use the Shield Gate mechanic. It also has a passive where drawing it grants you a 30 second buff called 'mind haze' that lowers the range that enemies can spot you, which is awesome for anyone running around in missions that don't need you to kill things to succeed, plus it has the Gleaming Blight mod which (when it procs) is a very, very useful Syndicate proc of applying a guaranteed Viral effect and damage in 25m radius, gives you 25% of your base Energy back and also increases your movement speed a little.

While I know there are many stronger weapons in the game to go to, the daggers do have some stand-outs and I would recommend trying them out in more specialised builds, because you could be surprised at how compensation for their lack of Range can give you some amazing results.
