Can I suppress "sombody reacted" notifications?

With the new Forums redesign, I've started to get a lot of nuisance alerts. They're all formatted as "Somebody reacted to a post in a topic <insert topic name>." Yes, these are topics I've posted in, but I'm not subscribed to them and the reactions are not to anything I've posted. Often the alert takes me to a post of my own I've made a week ago on page 1 of 6, just as often there will be NO new posts since the last one I made, so I'm not even sure what I'm being alerted to. In the old forums, the only alerts I got were for people quoting me, mentioning me or posing in threads I'm following. Alerts were useful to me. Now they're ostensibly spam 90% of the time.

I checked the Notification Settings in my account. They're very limited. The only relevant ones are "Mentions & My Content" and "Followed Content." There's barely any customisation there beyond "notify my via alert" and "notify me via e-mail." I don't seem to get a choice of WHAT to be notified of, so no ability to disable "somebody responded" alerts. All of them seem to be bundled together. I was hoping for something similar to Steam's notification settings, where I can manually pick to be notified when friends sign on, when they sign off, when they start or stop streaming, etc. Lots of options there. Here, I seem to have a single overall "notify me of everything" option that's just on or off.

Am I missing something? I'll admit, this forum layout is fairly new to me so I might just be missing some option or some setting somewhere. Hopefully I can filter my notifications down to just the ones I actually care about, rather than coming back to 15 notifications when only 2 are actually meaningful.

Oh, god... I just got a notification that "somebody reacted to a question Can I suppress "sombody reacted" notifications?" Not only is that objectively funny, but I came here to find no responses. However, I notice that the OP has received 1 Like. So THAT is what the system is notifying me of? OK, that makes a little more sense now, but it's also a lot more confusing. I guess notifications are now grouped together loosely as "somebody reacted" regardless of what that reaction is? Interesting.

I think you can - but it looks like mentions, replies, and likes are all bundled together. So if you turn that off, you'll have to turn on following to get any notification of response.

I think it's under your profile > Notification Settings > Mentions and my content.

I believe if you uncheck both options, it should* stop sending notifications. Feel free to ask me to reply again, or like, or something to see if that works.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I still want notifications for mentions and quotes, but not for likes. I suppose there's no way to have some but not all of these, given how they're bundled together? Well, at least now that I know what "reacted" means in this case, I can just disregard those notifications.
