[OOC] Warframe Pen and Paper System (DnD)

A while back when the content drought was really bad. A few clan mates and I started to create a pen and paper system based on the Warframe universe. Using the d100 system from Warhammer 40k’s dark heresy. After a few months of working on it, I thought it was time to share the idea to see if anyone else was interested. We did our best to make sure all the lore is based on the current information we have been given about the time between the Tenno’s slumber and their reawakening at the current time of the game; but as we all know sometime the lore of the Warframe universe is vague at best. So we had to stretch some lore out a bit.

We decided to put the setting at a time when the Tenno are still asleep, before the Tenno's awakening at the actual game’s start. Basically at this time the Orokin have had their physical bodies destroyed and now wander as spirits on Lua. However, the horrors that they have unleashed are still very active: A few Sentients still roaming the system, the Grineer uprising is still marching forward, the Corpus are in the midst of their ever-growing pursuit of wealth and technology, and the last remaining pockets of infestation still consume the sol system.

The players, dubbed "Explorers" can be tasked with anything from peaceful trade missions between clans, to orchestrating mass conflicts above old orokin ruins for one of the many factions. The goal or focus of this game system is to give life to the world of the normal denizens of the sol system and the happenings outside of the affairs of the Warframes. Maybe even to have the warframe community contribute to the continuity of the universe. Regardless whether that wish does come true I will post an outline on the races and classes that we created and if there is interest I’ll keep posting. If not, I’ll just keep it to myself.

Races/origins: As with any pen and paper style game, you must begin with character creation. Each explorer must pick both a race and a place of origin before choosing a class to represent the skills learned over the course of their life. Each "race" has two subraces that will give different bonuses and negatives to help build a character.

-      Ostron (Cetus/junker clade)

-      Cyborg (Rig-jockey/corpus)

-      Cloned (the defective/the enhanced)

-      Natural-born (the refuge/the citizen)

-      Mycona (terraborn/Railborn)

Classes –  After some time playing and leveling with an individual class, the class progression will branch off into a prestige class. Each class will have a set of prestige classes that will represent the Explorers' specialization as their class level raises.

-Aeronaut (The Ace/ The Admiral) - The aeronaut is a title given only to those who dare to challenge the harshness of space and make it out alive. Some of the best pilots in the system, these individuals are the core of the explorer’s squad. Guardians and escorts using their Spaceship as a mobile base of operation. They assure the team is working at peak efficiency.

-Artificer (Prophet/Void Smith) - Keepers of lost secrets the artificers fight to preserve the remains of the old empire and its technological marvels. Particularly; technologies that utilizes the void, a mysterious realm of extradimensional space where the laws of physics hold little sway. It is the source of many mysterious phenomena and the source of power for the most powerful beings to walk through the Sol system: the Tenno.

-Beastmaster (Huntsmaster/Geneticist) - Crafters of flash, the beastmaster commands savage monstrosities of his own creation. Grown and bred meticulously by their master the Kubrows ravage the battlefield with their horrid howls, while the Kavats step lightly stalking targets marked by their creator for death. When combined with the beast master’s cunning there are very few who can stand against their onslaught.

-Infiltrator (Ghostwalker/Seneschal) - These guerrilla operatives are the shadowed hand of the rival fledgling empires born from the ashes of the orokin. They work to sabotage and assassinate the enemies of their aligned masters. Even if those enemies are those within their own empire. 

-Lora (Empath/Hierophant) - The nobility of the current day descended from servants of the Orokin Empire. As it stands many of their old traditions and mannerisms of that time still hold. Lorist are named after one such tradition. The Lora device was an old piece of Orokin tech that allowed one to connect to another through telepathic means. Though manufacturing of this device has been lost, those nobles who engage in diplomacy and the medicinal arts pass them on to their children and in doing so passing on the tradition of the Lora.allowed one to connect to another through telepathic, and empathetic means. Though manufacturing of this device has been lost. Those nobles who engage in diplomacy and the Medical arts pass them on to their children. Passing on the tradition of the Lora.

-Mercenary (Blade dancer/Gunslinger) - An imitator of the once mighty warrior caste created by the Orokin, the mercenaries are blades and guns for hire; they roam the system seeking the glory, wealth and the thrill of combat. They are among those who seek to hone their skills using more practical methods.

-Tech (Devastator/mechanic) - Techs have an affinity for dangerous and powerful weaponry. Though they don't particularly wear heavily armoured suits they will use their technical prowess to deploy support Osprey to protect themselves and their fellow Explorers or 'Command' a strike force of assault Moa to bolster their forces.

-Triuna (Biomantic Sage/Plaguebarer) - Not all who were caught in the infestation's path were consumed. Some survived and others thrived. The Triuna is the name of those who were found to have a miraculous resistance towards the infestation. Not only were they found to be resistant, but they could also make the infestation docile and through some training control it.
