Protea will benefit more from freeze time than Xaku and...

People were asking for time freeze for the Protea but Xaku got it instead. Here I will tell you why I think Protea would benefit more from it. Please consider giving it to Protea instead of Xaku

I think someone posted it in the Protea thread. She would get more benefits from this, in my opinion.
Not sure if this "frozen in time" is needed.
- ability 1 -> high duration & low cost makes it easily recastable
- ability 2 -> might use it while moving from different group of enemies; otherwise, in my opinion, the ability wants you to recast it to disarm enemies. It doesn't need duration but low energy cost & high cast speed.
- ability 3 -> only Gaze would benefit from it; Deny doesn't need duration; Accuse might need it... but you kill enemies faster than your timer, hence not needed.

Unless it's freezes other things like suggested here it will be just "cool" gimmick that won't change too much.

On the other hand Protea will benefit from it more.
- ability 1 -> it's 1/s of Xaku's first so she will benefit it more from it. However it's still just duration buff, nothing extraordinary.

- ability 2 -> more duration means stronger turrets (damage multiplier) - so with good timing you could make a lot strong turrets. They disappear after some time so it won't be "constant" power creep.

- ability 3 -> this could change whole usage of this ability. As for now if you, as the Protea user, want to benefit from it (energy) you have to cast it at the end of your Temporal anchor. If you do it earlier, you will catch all the loot... and discard it. With freeze time you can benefit from the Dispensary in both states (during and after/pre Temporal anchor).



As for theme, Protea is more time-oriented frame. While, I guess, Protea in the Lore is more powerful, inside game we get "pseudo time rewind". It's still time related concept fit more Protea than Xaku. Xaku is a broken frame, void user...

Protea is the single most OP frame EVER made. She doesn't need infinite energy AND infinite power duration on her insanely powerful damage abilities.

Most OP ever is a bit of a stretch, but yeah I do agree, she doesn't need a power duration freeze buff.

She also doesn't need her present 4, though. She's a totally capable frame with three abilities who can compete with Saryn, Khora, and Mesa in clearing rooms, and her first three abilities suit her "bodyguard" role. I think a better 4, whether based on time travel or specters since both would explain it and both are lore elements for her, would be to just produce three more Proteas who'd go off and kill some things for 15s.

Well, Xaku has some reworking already in the pipeline, including universal changes to void damage. 

Protea's problem isn't that she's not a strong frame, it's just that her 4 was DoA. It didn't need to be anything super impressive, but right now it just seems counterproductive, like I don't really know what scenario someone is really intended to push that button.

She is supposed to be "spam frame" and time freeze would help her with spamming. Especially 2nd (and it would fix 3rd).
Her 4th helps using her 1 & 2 but 3rd ability is very bad (at least for me for energy). However she can (or at least could in theory - more later) spam other things like Azima's disks or melee's heavy attacks (at 12x combo for example). She could do more but there are bugs that don't restore many things.

Her Dispensary is bad if you need only energy.

Use Equilibrium and put Synth Fiber on your pet. 

I can kinda-sorta see how her 4 would be meant to restore energy without them, but it still has its own casting cost, so it's pretty self-defeating.

I dunno, it seems like a pretty good balance. The way it is now, she drops turrets to deal with one set of things and then uses guns to deal with something else, rinse and repeat. Dropping three turrets every 6s or so feels about right. If maximizing her DPS was entirely a matter of pressing 2 on the right rhythm, she'd be a lot less fun to play.
