Hildryn Balefire Launcher - Cost per shot- Question

Okay, I am pretty sure this doesn't work, but I will ask anyway. Would the Energize Munitions ability eliminate the shield cost of Balefire shots, or would it not apply, since it is an energy/shield driven thing, rather than true ammunition, even though it overrides the secondary weapon while active? So in that way it is a bit unlike the Regulator pistols, which are a pure ability.

Anybody know?

Okay i just quickly slapped energize munitions on hyldrin to test cause im curious and it doesn't affect balefire
