You might want to take time per drop into consideration.

As one could say a 2% chance per 5 mins is lower than killing 50 enemies per minute that drop certain things at 0.02%.

If you killed 250 enemies who drop certain thing with 0.02% drop rate in 5minutes, the chance to get at least one in 5 minutes would be 4.9%.

1 - ((1 - 0.0002) ^ 250) = 0.04878 = 4.878%

Exactly that. The raw drop chance from a single enemy doesn't really matter if dosens of these enemies are marching towards you in every mission.

Before Deimos, the Rare acolyte mods "technically" had a 2% chance to drop (which is extremely good) - but you'd have to wait a year for the acolyte event to even have a chance to spawn the enemies those mods were dropping from - and those guys would only spawn one at a time at irregular intervals.

These days, Condition Overload seems to be dropping left right and centre (at least for me) from Deimos mobs. Necramech Streamline on the other hand...

And that's why I say Xiphos. Factor in each part is a very low(less than 2% chance) to drop from a reinforced cache, of which we find maybe 1 every 50 - 100 missions. Then here's the drop rate of each part and how many caches on average for each. It's just downright ridiculous. Rotation C Cache refers to "reinforced rare cache" type

I had to actually check that in the Wiki, but it seems that you are confusing Xiphos and Mantis.

It's Mantis that drops from rare containers - and the drop chances there are pretty good (compensating for the fact that finding a rare container is pretty hard to find)

Xiphos parts drop from rot. C resource caches in sabotage missions - with a bit of practice, you can find all 3 caches in almost every sabotage mission you do (if you actually bother looking for them). So the drop rates here are, while not pleasant, not exactly ridiculous
