Good General Use Amp

Radical_T

Question

Hey there, I'm looking for a good "General Purpose" Amp to use in game.

I'd rather not make 100 different amps for every possible thing to do in the game, so I'd rather find one good general use one that I can bring anywhere and still get things done with. And as a heads up I don't really know the number coordination of the Amps so if someone could let me know of the part names at the very least, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you all very much for your time!

the numbers go in what rank you get the part in the order of ranks with cetus and then rank of fortuna. a general purpose amp only cares about the first and last number, for eidolon if you don't want to switch it is x27 or x77 where the prism can be anything. then choose a prism of your liking. i use 113 because i don't bother for fortuna as my main amp. the eidolon amp can also act as a general use amp if you wish.

I use and recommend a very non-standard 2-3-2.

  • Use whatever you like for the Prism, but the shotgun (#2) is very effective, as its punchthru can hit the eidolon multiple times - at any rate it works well in all scenarios - hunting heads, anomolies, kuva pigs, whatever.
  • I recommend Klebrik because the guided beam is as fun as surprise pizza - and its effective. It actually pops floating heads like no other weapon
  • I use the Juttni brace, because I use the shotgun, which is not a crit build. Energy recharge is a big deal, but school focus will help a lot too.

Hey, maybe nobody will agree with this amp build, (they're all crit-happpy) but look for yourself - I love it.

For a "general purpose" amp, I agree with this.  I have a different amp that I use for Eidolons, but to have one just for my operator to carry around that I might need to use occasionally, I think this is a good suggestion.  I don't actually remember which brace I use, but it is definitely a 2-3-X, for the same reasons that Canach says.

I also have a different amp that I will use during a rare profit-taker run, just because I want more range to cycle the PT's shields than I get with the 2-3-X.  Again, not general purpose.

Theres youtube clips of different amp parts.

For prisms I really love  Lega, Klamora, Shwakk.

  • Lega(fortuna) is a flame thrower like Ignis.   Awesome range, great damage (except to eidolons lol), great on energy.
  • Klamora(fortuna) is a fat multi-hit high crit short-medium range beam.  It has great Crit chance but it drains energy instantly.  But its AoE is very nice.
  • Shwakk is like the arca plasmor and pumps out a massive blastwave.  Crit chance is meh, damage is average, AoE is nice, energy friendly.

For Scaffolds I like Klebrik, Pencha, Phad, Propa

  • Klebrik is a homing laser,  low damage, low crit,  energy is medium.  But it can go through walls and is easy to use.  Wish It chained into other enemies.   But this one takes to long to kill stuff in my opinion.
  • Pencha is a nice medium-long range beam attack with great damage, low crit chance, its a charge up attack so energy usage is fine.  AoE is on the smaller side of things making it not great for general use.
  • Phad(fortuna) is awesome,  It spits on a blade that reciochets off stuff and seeks out enemies.  It will bounce multiple times.  Good damage, good crits, good energy.  This is my favorite scaffold.
  • Propa(fortuna) is a giant bomb.  You drop it and then you better run or hide but it can kill you...or atleast used to... havent used it sense self harm change.   Massive damage and good crit.  It has a big delay between shooting so energy isnt really a concern except it takes alot.   In general gameplay I think it works great.   Vs eidolons I cant hit them with the damn thing even though the AoE is huge.  wtf...   mix this with any kind of PULL mechanic and omg.... (zenurik, larva, pull, exodia, nyx, magus anomaly etc)

Personally I always have Lega/Phad.  But for awhile I was using the holy hell out of Klomora and it quickly shot up my usage boards...  I just dont have a good scaffold on mine... I should redo it...  I had Klom/Propa but not the cert brace... so I remade it to Klom/shrak for eidolons...  but for general use.... I would probably want Klom/ pencha or propa (charge up is nice with one that totally drains energy lol) or Phad.   It doesnt really matter because Klom will probably hog the spotlight.

I also have Raplak+pencha but I freaking hate this amp... Rap is like a machine gun but it requires pinpoint accuracy and mixed with pencha another small AoE part and it just sucks lol.

A 666 Amp (Lega Dissic Plaga) is neat.

Nice range (and visuals) on the flamethrower part, good AoE on the cluster grenade thing to e.g. catch Kuva clouds easily,
you can keep flamin' for a long time / spit out a bunch of 'nades before needing a refill (which takes like a second or so).

Also, you shouldn't have any issues triggering Virtuous Fury, for a (small but) consistent damage buff.
