Xata’s Whisper protects sentients from you

For purposes of anti-sentient content, this is a great ability except for 1 major flaw: the bullet attractor status proc pulls projectiles to the hollow core of many sentients.

Im not sure what can be done about this, but it is a very big downside vs things like a battalyst. They go from having Adaptation deminish your damage, to not taking damage at all.

The only weapons that seem to easily get around this are beam weapons with punch through, which appear to actually be capable of hitting the target twice, but I’m not sure about that.

What do you guys think about this?

Think it’s an intentional defense feature of sentients vs void damage?

I'm confused, so Xatas Wisper has an innate bullet attractor mechanic or are you talking when used with Mags bullet attractor? 

Cause I can't think of a time when I've seen Xata's wisper do anything that resembled bullet attractor.

He is saying that the "bullet attractor" status effect from Void damage applied to sentient enemies (which is the best enemy to use void damage against) actually benefit them because curves the bullets into the hollow core of the sentient (which is the centre of the sphere)

I thought the hollow point was just for appeareance and was covered anyway by hitboxes, do you actually miss them o.O ?

@Cloud it’s going through, you can test this in sim, I was using a Corinth prime

you can also use cc and shoot right through their core and not cause any damage

I know that shooting through their core has always been intended, you’re supposed to shoot limbs, but imo it seems unfair to have bullet attractor pull bullets through the hollow core, unless this was always intended.

Ill test this without Xata’s Whisper, using an operator amp instead, to see if this has always been the case or not.

Hmmm didn't know that the status for Void was bullet attractor. I pretty much just pulled Xaku out of the foundry and marched him over to the dentical chair for subsumation. Slapped it on my Titania expressly for eventual anti Sentient shenaningains but if it is functionally self defeating because of their, how did they put it "hitbox porn"..... cause everything dies too quickly for me to really notice and I haven't had a reason to fight sentients. 

I'm not sure if it's just a terrible oversight or in intentional slight to the ability :/

This was literally my only intended use for this ability as well was vs sentients

Wow, Void truly has the Worst Proc of any damage type.

How and why in the world they make a horde shooter with per-polygon  hit detection on enemies? This is not The Sniper series where they need to display dramatic effects of bullets ripping through flesh at the exact hitspot.
