Helios scanning problem

Hi, so i have a minor concern to do with my codex scanner not being filled up by helios even though he is constantly scanning things, he isnt using up codex scanners but i think he must be using synthesis scanners which i would assume would still add to the codex. I have even tried unequipping the synthesis scanner to see if he would use the codex ones but still no luck, I noticed this has probably been happening since i bought the sol-battery widget from simaris so possibly a bug? or am i missing something here?

the simaris scanner is indeed a codex scanner an with the sol battery helios is able to do unlimited scanning till the codex limit of the item is filled.
think your meaning helios is scanning things but in your codex its not filling up the scan count?
i would go into your codex an find a enemy doesnt have a full codex of, but is a easy one to find.
make note of the number of scans an then do the mission you can find the enemy on, an then check after mission the scan number to see if your game is bugged with helios scans not counting.

i know my helios over here on xbox, its scans with the simaris scanner with sol battery fills up my codex, an there there are some things it will keep scanning as there is no codex entery for an thus no scan limit so will always keep scanning said item when ever we come across it.

well now that helps me understand a bit more, i wasnt aware that some things are always scanned but i definitely think im bugged now because certain enemies i have scanned countless times and their codex entrys arent complete, maybe im just bugging but now that i know synthesis scanners do indeed count ill be crossing that off as a possibility and try to find the source.

What were the things that helio kept scanning? iirc there are something on Earth that helios was bugged with, that it would scan even when the codex was completed.

Has Helios actually finished scanning?  It takes a few seconds for him to do.  If they die before it's complete,  they won't count as scanned.  If an enemy starts glowing from the scan,  you have to wait till it stops and the little "scan" affinity notification pops up before killing it.

I think i might have been just being a pepega, a few scans now have been confirmed finished so im not sure but seems ok

I'm not sure that's true - once an enemy glows, then the scan will complete even if you kill them first. I've never bothered to find out by counting (ie always too busy killing them!) but I think its true as my codex filled up nicely.

The Investigator mod scans over a period of time,  minimum 2 seconds at rank five.  The timer starts when the enemy begins glowing.   If it does before the scan timer is finished,   the scan is canceled.   Helios is just very good at scanning,  and will scan enemies that you don't notice.
