Haven’t used the Warframe app before. Just making sure if it’s okay to use?

crimsonspartan1

Question

I downloaded the warframe app that lets me use the foundry and such from my mobile device without having to manually do it in the game itself, but is it safe to use, or am i perhaps taking a risk?

Might be a dumb question, since the app is made by Digital Extremes themselves, but i feel like i should make sure if it’s 100% safe to use, since it’s been out for a few years now, or if i have the risk of something happening to my account due to “third part software” or whatever?

Probably as safe as the OS is; though if you wanted you could use an app security scanner, something like the sophos one.

It's useful, but it doesn't let you do everything you can in the orbiter UI.

I use the warframe app just fine for monitoring my foundry and setting up extractors. You can't manage inventory or anything like that, and you can't be logged into the app while you're on the game (It will ask you to disconnect). I've had no issues with it, and if the app is made by DE themselves, there's no "third party software" which violates DE's use terms. Just make sure the one you're grabbing is by Digital Extremes, and you'll be fine. :)

I don't think they would slap their own face with their own products. Even if that happens the support would 99.99% lift the ban.

The app is best for daily foundry stuff like forma. And useful for checking news/lotus alert/rare invasion.

The only thing about the app I must really warn you, is that if you opened the app while you are in a mission on the main platform (i.e. PC in your case). The app is capable to log you out from the main platform despite leaving you intact in the mission.  The only warning is from the app asking if you want to kill other login instance. If you pressed yes or simply closing the app, your main platform instance would be disconnected. You wouldn't know until you extract from that mission and lose everything earned.
