And it's probably gonna piss off a lot of players . Since DE seems wants to do a warframe revise part 4 and is asking for suggestion , I decide to came back and do a quick review of every ability in game . I had already done a full review before , as here . ( May be a little out-dated ) Also a full rework post here . But I decide to do a full review again for the current meta , and include the helminth system in it . And before I start , let me explain how I view ability . First , it needs to done what it say it could . If one ability say it can kill , it should kill , or at least do a lot of damage . If one say it can CC , enemy under effect better not be shooting at me . Second , the effect should be worthy of it's cost . This is more of a experience thing , it's hard to describe with my monkey brain . Third , augment shouldn't take into account . All ability should be good initially . If any ability is only good with augment , it should be buff. Augment takes a mod slot , it will restrict players build if it's necessary . Also I try to not compare ability . If an ability meets all three criteria , I will say it's good , even if there is an better ability . So , here we go . ( In alphabet order ) ( I will use number to represent abilities , this is quicker for me .) (Some frame needs some rework in my opinion , can check them out in the full rework post . ) Ash Spoiler 1 Cost too much , do too little . 2 Necessary yet underwhelming . 3 Please make it more consistent ( can always use finisher ) , so I don't have to use lethal teleport . 4 It's fine . Force people into animation if use 3 while active is a bad over sight though . Atlas Spoiler 1 Punching is very fun . ( Please don't take out of context ) 2 Break too fast . And I don't really get the rolling stone part ... 3 Necessary yet over cost . Also should spread out the ways to create pebbles instead of heavily tie to one ability . 4 Cost too much , do too little . Banshee Spoiler 1 Animation too slow as quick CC . 2 8 digit numbers are always welcomed . 3 Necessary yet underwhelming . Not enough to protect this glass canon . 4 standing still is a death sentence for glass canons , specially when it hardly does damage . Baruuk Spoiler 1 The only reason I'm not attacking is when I'm extracting or moving to the next objective . I don't need to dodge damage while I'm faster than they can react . 2 It's nice . 3 disarming single target is way worse than DR . 4 super strong and fun, but super bad against armor even with augment . Chroma I have a small rework for this guy . Spoiler 1 Just useless. 2 Toxin and electric needs to be buffed . Also I wish I can refresh it's duration by recasting . 3 Super tank 4 Cost way too high and do way too little . Money is always nice though . Ember Spoiler 1 4 is cheaper and stronger . 2 Rip my energy . 3 Spend energy to save energy , ran out of energy anyways . 4 Than the dinosaurs are gone~ Equinox Spoiler 1 Should keep stored up numbers for 3's augment and 4 , and shouldn't cancel her 3 and 4 . And no this shouldn't be an augment . 2 Rage is underwhelming . 3 Nice . Even better if I don't have to recast it after 1 . 4 Also nice , and nicer if I can keep the number and don't have to cast after 1 . Excalibur Spoiler 1 I never experience old 1( pun intended ) , but I think it's fun . 2 useful. 3 Cost too much , do too little . 4 very fun . Frost I have a small rework for this guy . Spoiler 1 Does nothing 2 Does almost nothing . 3 The only reason to use Frost . 4 It's nice . Can strip more armor though . Gara Spoiler 1 It's okay I guess . Could be more interesting . 2 Bullet-proof glass . 3 Break too fast . 4 Can use more health , but overall functional . Garuda Spoiler 1 Animation should be more fluid and faster . Also why a melee frame get an one-side shield when they are often surrounded . 2 BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD 3 Can have more efficiency . 4 Super scaling! Gauss Spoiler 1 [insert initial D reference] 2 Needs to have 4 to be useful . 3 a little over-cost . 4 [insert another initial D reference] Grendal I have a small rework for this guy . Spoiler 1 Energy drain is too much to synergize with his other abilities. But that is some crazy scaling . 2 I don't like pressing the same button six time in two different way every 25 seconds . 3 needs bigger range . Also corrosive will make more sense . 4 Super hard to control . It's old archwing all over again . Harrow Spoiler 1 very powerful 2 I wish my teammate will coordinate , also I wish I don't need an augment to make this wish came true . 3 I wish my teammate will coordinate , also I wish I don't need an augment to make this wish came true . 4 infinite red crits! Hildryn Spoiler 1 It's nice . 2 It's nice . Better Mag 3 on higher level . 3 really nice. 4 Why I can't maintain same height when I fly over a pit , and why I can't zoom in on enemies ? Hydroid I have a full rework for this guy . Spoiler 1 Not consistent because it hit random places in that area . 2 What's the purpse of this ability ? And why I can only cancel it with my 3 ? 3 The reason to play Hydroid , but it's super boring. 4 Not enough damage or CC , and kept swinging my enemies around . It's really hard to aim . Inaros Spoiler 1 Mini Excalibur 2 . Nice ! 2 I see almost no purpose for this ability . 3 Why ? 4 Immortal mummy. Ivara Spoiler 1 Sleep and cloak arrow is nice . string arrow and noise arrow is kind of niche' , but I will give it a pass . 2 So hard to control . Maybe change it to a lock-on ability ? 3 the reason to play Ivara . 4 nice . Khora Spoiler 1 This ability is nuts. 2 good. 3 I hope I have some control over it ... 4 This ability is also nuts. Limbo Spoiler I can't comment them individually , since they are all heavily connected . It's good overall though . Loki Spoiler 1 die too fast 2 the reason to use Loki . 3 umm... okay , but why? 4 The other reason to play Loki. Mag Spoiler 1 Good small CC . The energy orb drop chance is probably still broken though , and it's mechanic is really outdated . 2 I love my bubbles 3 Needs scaling , and can travel faster. 4 cost too much , could do more . Mesa Spoiler 1 Why I need a concentrated burst on a frame with highest DPS ability . And it's not even a big burst. 2 Nice 3 very tanky 4 haha peacemaker go brrrrr Mirage I have a "rework" for her Spoiler 1 what's better than 1 gun ? 5 guns ! 2 could do more . Maybe even some synergies with light levels? 🤔 3 inconsistent . I hope I have control over the light around me. 4 Cost too much , do too little . Nekros I have a full rework for him . Spoiler 1 Not doing enough 2 Stop running around so I can hit you :( 3 the reason to play Nekros. 4 could do more . Nezha Spoiler 1 nice 2 very fun and useful 3 nice . very tanky 4 nice CC Nidus Spoiler 1 Super scaling . 2 so good that it get nerf in helminth 3 I love DR/power strength 4 It's nice Nova Spoiler 1 I hope I can refresh it without an augment 2 literally nuke 3 super good utility 4 the reason to use Nova Nyx I have a full rework for her Spoiler 1 AI is bad . I wish I can command them via synergy. 2 very nice 3 inconsistent . 4 cost too much , do too little . and no , the augment didn't make this okay . Oberon Spoiler 1 infinite scaling . 2 the reason to use Oberon 3 Also the reason to use Oberon . I wish it can be a little cheaper though... and the armor buff could be more. 4 Can use bigger range . Octavia Octavia is actually the only frame I never actually used... Spoiler 1 infinite damage without doing anything . huh... 2 I heard it has some anti-synergy . 3 damage , stealth , speed . a 3 for 1 special ! 4 Did I mention she got DAMAGE ? Protea Spoiler 1 very nice 2 very nice 3 so good it got nerf inside helminth... 4 cost too much , do too little . Maybe recast all abilities instead of a damage burst will be a good start? Revenent I... kind of get a full rework for him Spoiler 1 Either useful or useless , depends on how you play . 2 Infinite scaling iron skin 3 Either useful or useless , depends on how you play . 4 Either useful or useless , depends on how you play . His 1~3 and 4 is really disconnected... Rhino Spoiler 1 could do more 2 start to get outdated due to recent years' power creep . Can use some Nezha 3 treatment. 3 so good it got nerf in helminth. 4 the reason to use Rhino other than his 3 Saryn Spoiler 1 Infinite scaling + armor strip . 2 The most niche' in her kit , yet still really good. 3 more spores! more damage! 4 I actually think a ability that essentially does 50% of enemies current HP is under cost at 75... Titania Spoiler 1 duration too short as a status immune ability , yet overshadowed by her 3 as an CC 2 I don't like pressing one button eight time in two different ways every two minutes , specially when I got no choice . 3 It's an okay CC . Redirection type of CC is a little inconsistent though . 4 Very high DPS Trinity Spoiler 1 could do more . I don't blame it though , 4 is just better in all the ways. 2 literally the reason to play Trinity . 3 I remember the day of self-destruct Trinity ( or whatever it's called ) ... It's a nice one though 4 an ability so good that it outshines her 1 . Valkyr Spoiler 1 why 2 The reason to play Valkyr . Slow effect should be an aura. 3 could do more . Should be an aura. 4 invincible for sure , yet cost too much . Vauban Spoiler 1 Really nice . 2 Good . But why boost pad? 3 It's a super Razor! But it could be more. 4 The reason to play Vauban. Volt Spoiler 1 good as a small CC . 2 [Insert initial D reference] 3 The god killer shield. 4 a big CC with good scaling ! Wish armor isn't that big of a problem though Wisp Spoiler 1 The reason to play wisp 2 a nice utility tool and an emergency button 3 It's okay . Really good on Banshee though. 4 Cost too much , do too little Wukong Spoiler 1 the reason to play Wukong I wish there is some anti-AFK mechanics though ... My friends hate those AFK players so much. 2 nice 3 nice 4 I heard people say it's bad ... but I think it's okay . I guess , I didn't play Wukong since a long time ago... Xaku Spoiler Buffs incoming ! Maybe after that . Zephyr I have a "rework" for her . Spoiler 1 so hard to control , to the point it's almost unusable. 2 could do more. 3 Imagine getting shot - this post is make by the bird girl gang 4 Super inconsistent . And it should start big , or grow big on itself instead of casting 2 . Helminth Spoiler Empower Everyone loves extra power strength . Infested mobility happy Volt and Gauss noises . Master's summons Why should I infuse an ability for this when pack leader exist . And even if I summon them , they will just run of to a distance again ... And yes I know I can heal my sentinels , but they either at full health or dead . There is no in between . Rebuild shield I actually considered to put this on Mag... Could cost a little last for the cool down. Also the little clip show it's not instant restore . Why is that ? Perspicacity Very niche' , very nice . This is the ability I want to see as a basic ability on Helminth ( no joke ) Energized munition Very nice for gun focus play style . Marked for death It's nice. Expedite Suffering What the point of killing enemies that are dead anyways? So there is the super fast review for all the abilities . If DE want more details , click here . I understand why you said that , Silence in some cases , can be a total area lockdown by experience players . But it requires precise movement and timing control , also very fast hand and good aim to hit those weak points to clear out enemies that are too close.( I can use melee for sure , but I really don't want melee to be the answer to every problem) This results in a very busy game play - it's very very fun , and is really rewarding for sure , but compare that to some other frame who can do something similar . Mag just needs to press 2 . Gauss is equally busy , but we get a near immortal tank with also a lot of damage . Compare that to Banshee , than one can see ease things up a bit won't hurt .
