Resource Drop Chance Booster for Kavat Codes (Edited)

Llminx

Question

Hi,

Does anyone know for certain whether or not the resource drop chance booster that is supposed to buff the entire team affect the Kavat Codes? I'm getting people telling me it does and other people telling me it doesn't. It'd be great if there's some proof or someone with credentials answers this question.

Thanks,

Llminx

EDIT: I am asking about the TEAM buff. If one person on the team has it, will it buff anyone else on the team as well. Specifically for the Kavat Codes.

Hotfix 24.2.15

  • Made drop chance/amount Boosters apply to all scans that yield Resources.

Additional point from warframe wiki

  • This booster is applied to the team, meaning the person who bought the booster does not have to be the one killing to earn more resources. Boosters from more than one players do not stack, however.

Bonus Question: How would the team buff work in Steel Path? would it negate it since it is the same kind of booster?

Since you get kavat genetic codes from scanning kavats, not as a drop from killing them, a resource drop chance booster is useless for this purpose.

However, I see no reason why using a resource booster to double the amount of kavat codes you get from each scan would not work. Try that instead.

Drop chance would not affect kavat scans. Number of people in the team do affect kavat spawns. More people, more enemies, also more kavats. Ballistica's charged shot also helps by creating Kavat ghost. The ghost would appear for a few seconds and you can scan it (must be quick).

So, technically, that means kavat codes do not count as resource drops from scans but something else?

Also, the main thing is asking about the TEAM buff. Everyone I've talked to says it works on the kavats but only individually.

Resource drop chance affects scanning of feral kavats after February 2019.

To make things clear:

  • Scanning feral kavat has a base 25% chance to yield a genetic code
  • Resource drop chance booster double the chance to 50% instead of 25%
  • Resource booster double the amount of genetic code yielded
  • Cross-Matrix Widget has 45% chance make the scan count as 2, potentially doubling the yield even further

I like your answer, I really do. That's also how I calculated it as well, but in this huge breeder server I'm in they are all saying I'm wrong. They say that it only affects individuals and that it's not a party buff. I really want to find some way to for sure confirm one way or the other. I was really hoping a dev or someone similar can go like "this is it" but I'm starting to realize no one in that group will likely check any of this. Is there somewhere I can ask that would be close to "official"?

EDIT: I should add the people in these servers are all high ranking, long term, experienced players, but they don't have any hard confirmation from the devs or provided any kind of other resource other than "believe/trust us and our expertise". Which is why it has made me doubt my initial calculations so hard. I wouldn't have gone to the trouble to post this if I didn't believe what they said.

Steel path, one person with the drop chance booster, one person without, each scans one kavat per run. 10-20 runs for a reasonable sample size to account for variance. If the booster applies, both people will have 100% code drop rate, if they do not, the person without the booster will have 50% code drop rate. Job done.

That would depend on how the boosters stack. If it is 50%+50% or 50%+(50%*50%). It may even be possible that the Steel Path booster can't stack with the team buff because it's the same kind of booster. But, who knows? - unless you have access to the code

All missions in The Steel Path have a Resource Drop Chance Booster and Mod Drop Chance Booster applied to them.

  • This also stacks with Booster items such as from Login Rewards, and also Dark Sector bonuses from applicable mission nodes.
