On being Nominated for the best gaming community award

Hi, I just wanted to congratulate the Devs and everyone of you from this community, for getting nominated as the "best gaming community award" 😅. This is one of my favorite games, despite all the bugs and grinds, and the community is overall awesome, friendly, and always willing to help out the new players and players who are unfamiliar with some mechanics of playing, the developers often lending an ear to the players requests (Best one I could think of was the "clem" meme that became a lovable NPC later in-game).

I have voted this game from the link in the news section. Best of luck DE and warframe 😄

To add a bit of a wrinkle to your comment OP.

As some of the above posters have mentioned, there are some toxic areas of the game; The forums, trade chat, reddit.

The forums underwent a moderate change, before you could vote with various emotes like "helpful" "upvote" "Informative" "haha" among others, except that system was abused where the "haha" became a de-facto downvote that was used by people who formatted their thoughts badly, or were just plain controversial. (I tended to distain "voters" on online forums)

But asides from that, Yeah, the game has a pretty nice playerbase -at least in-game- most of the time so from that important metric, yeah, it's a pretty good fanbase.

Oh were they? that's kinda funny

Considering the sore thumb that is the one particular streamer everyone here and on reddit complains about, even criticized by other streamers, who remains part of DE's creator program, I'm both surprised and amused they got nominated.

It'd be a shame if the people in charge of making that nomination were to be made aware of that irradiating toxicity...

EDIT:
Turns out I'm incorrect. That aforementioned streamer was removed from the program.

Aside from the forums which like EVERY forum can be a cesspool, the actual INGAME community is fantastic. And even a toxic person on the forums will be a nice lad in the game. People who COUNT AS COMMUNITY, those who talk and communicate with newbies in global chat etc are often willing to spend hours helping people with issues :)

I don't know the other nominees, depending on the candidates it probably has a good chance of winning

According to Gamesradar, the nominees for best community are:

- Fortnite
- Final Fantasy XIV
- Minecraft
- Dreams
- Fall Guys
- Sea of Thieves
- Animal Cross: New Horizons
- Warframe

I'm pretty sure Warframe's not gonna make it.

If you're referring who I think you are, he isn't part of the program. Double check it!

I've met nice people on all 3 2 of those...ok well not reddit, but that's just me not visiting reddit.
This bro of a bro in trade chat recently, helped me finally get the plat for Loki Deluxe and I sold him stuff I never thought I would sell (Ankyros Prime!). Would have been much simpler too if not for the bundle exlusivity of Hulta armour.
But ya, forums are a dangerous land.

And oh, you've not been around for the old, old reaction system? We used to have a legit downvote and upvote, among the accent ones, back in my day. Downvote didn't last long, Canadian rule just does not allow negativity, it seems.

This is place has it's dark side and advertisement is doing it's darn best to hide it from the outside, I am honestly impressed how long they've managed!

Had to do some digging, but from what I can tell, you're correct. Their real name, streamer name, nor abbreviations couldn't be found.

Well that's a relief.

Well, Dreams and Animal Cross are great contenders on that list, imo.

Don't really play any of them, but I have little faith that Warframe will best them. Anyways, it's about good communities, so whoever wins - my heartfelt kudos to them.

I'm not sure about Sea of Thieves, although if there's a bit of wonton trolling going on that's probably just because that's the game.

Minecraft's also got some clout, given how strong and long-lasting the community has been. It's effectively a platform as much as it is a game, similar to dreams.

Fortnite got nominated? I am smelling the 2017 game awards bribery again... Remember when Overwatch a very recent new game won best ongoing and the overwatch community said Warframe deserves it better?

My pessimistic view is that Epic is gonna bribe the judges and Voila Fortnite NUMBA ONE.

If Fortnite wins I am not gonna be surprised. Given the past experiences.

I don't know too much about the PvP community, but it seems odd to me to see a community nominated at all for a game where the vast majority of play is PvP and not coop.

I only ever played the coop of Fortnite, but it was almost dead and all anyone wanted to do was trade scam on global chat; even during coop save the world games they would be asking for trades in chat so they could scam, especially on console -- the pc community you would at least find some decent people and some good games. The community I interacted with on console though was absolutely horrific.

It’s best you don’t. PvP communities are the worst in the entire gaming community. It’s a breeding ground for toxicity and place where immature manchilds and little brats meet. Warframe Forum community is nothing compared to some PvP communities of other games like Fortnite, COD, Counter Strike, etc.

That sounds like what I imagine. It's why I stay far away from PvP games online most of the time, Things were toxic enough playing splitscreen with my brothers growing up lol. I mean, I will admit to going to back TF2 now and then, but if you are just jumping into random games I've found the toxic comments are pretty rare, most people don't even say anything at all in that game for some reason.
