On being Nominated for the best gaming community award

I've met nice people on all 3 2 of those...ok well not reddit, but that's just me not visiting reddit.
This bro of a bro in trade chat recently, helped me finally get the plat for Loki Deluxe and I sold him stuff I never thought I would sell (Ankyros Prime!). Would have been much simpler too if not for the bundle exlusivity of Hulta armour.
But ya, forums are a dangerous land.

And oh, you've not been around for the old, old reaction system? We used to have a legit downvote and upvote, among the accent ones, back in my day. Downvote didn't last long, Canadian rule just does not allow negativity, it seems.

This is place has it's dark side and advertisement is doing it's darn best to hide it from the outside, I am honestly impressed how long they've managed!

Well there are always nice people in whatever community you're in -thankfully- and to add my own anecdote, I remember doing a trade that I felt was a bit unfair (I think I gave someone 90 ducats for some limbo coordinates?) and I asked for a partial refund, which I miraculously got!
And well -to be a bit egotistical- I post here on the forums, and I'm not terribly toxic and hostile about it, and I'm generally helpful.

It seems it's more of a few bad apples (or maybe getting a bunch of regular apples to turn bad) that cause most of the problems here, and -to be a bit offensive- I suspect the old "voting" system of old (and it's improvised "Haha" version) was one system that was contributing more than it's fair share of generalized rudeness and dismissiveness to the warframe community so -offensively- I enjoy it's removal. It's just so rare for such systems to be use well and their unfortunate entanglement with "validation" render it a dangerous force.
I guess it's a matter of people not being polite about using their casual powers.

I'd guess you'd caulk that decision up with the marketing team really, -why create more hostility that you already want to?-.

According to Gamesradar, the nominees for best community are:

- Fortnite
- Final Fantasy XIV
- Minecraft
- Dreams
- Fall Guys
- Sea of Thieves
- Animal Cross: New Horizons
- Warframe

I'm pretty sure Warframe's not gonna make it.

I'm... wondering very much about how those two got there...

Minecraft actually had a redemption arc because Fortnite/Battle Royales took away a large chunk of people who were just there because it was the most popular thing at the time.

Mostly kids and people who act like kids, but the point stands for the most part.

It’s best you don’t. PvP communities are the worst in the entire gaming community. It’s a breeding ground for toxicity and place where immature manchilds and little brats meet. Warframe Forum community is nothing compared to some PvP communities of other games like Fortnite, COD, Counter Strike, etc.

Smaller communities, even in PvP tend to self-curate better.

Having said that, I've been called toxic for saying 'GLHF' (good luck, have fun) at the start of Titanfall 2 games before.

Minecraft has the benefit of being a platform. So it gets things like lots of charity streams, modding and so forth, which something like Warframe can't do so easily.

Example - Charity Hunger Games tournaments between youtubers.

Lmao try out the league, csgo and overwatch community. You will know what toxic means.

They aren't any different to any other game. I've played League since before Season 1, so over 10 years. I've also played hundreds of other games over a much longer period.

People aren't nicer entirely based on the game they're playing, it's silly to suggest that. Pve games with fail conditions see just as much bad behavior, Warframe is just impossible to fail anything unless a bug is involved. Other than bugs, the only time I've seen missions fail are when I joined a pug sortie spy and 1 person messes up, and I have seen people rage over their time being wasted.

I've also seen "toxic" behavior over simply being Limbo; had a case where someone asked me to not use 4 and was raging, despite the fact I used 0 abilities.

I also consider people afking to be "toxic" behavior, as it's no different to afking in pvp games; in either case, time is being wasted or enemy behavior is messed up all due to selfishness.

The forums also is a great display of how poorly people behave over simply disagreements, or differences in skill, despite skill not mattering due to there being non-existent fail conditions.

Either way, anytime community vs community is mentioned, it's always the "my community is nice and all the others are toxic". These sorts of polls are honestly pretty meaningless.

Yo, what the frick.

Best community? This one?

Man, I had people argue with me here, writing entire essays about how wrong I am when I was actually right the entire time.

I had people insult me and get away with it, while I got warnings from triggerhappy mods just because they didn't agree with me. (Granted, that was ages ago, but the point still stands)

I had threads turn into flame wars when all I did was ask a perfectly normal question.

I had people try to shove their opinion down my throat because thinking for myself is apparently bad.

And you're telling me this place got nominated as the best community?

What did those people smoke?

Cool story, but you realize that you're bot the only one in the community right? And you do realize that there will ALWAYS be those type of people in communities right?

I am fully aware that d-bags like that exist in every community.

But the fact is, WF's community simply does not qualify for that award in my opinion.

Granted, half the games on that list don't qualify, either.

Considering the sore thumb that is the one particular streamer everyone here and on reddit complains about, even criticized by other streamers, who remains part of DE's creator program, I'm both surprised and amused they got nominated.

It'd be a shame if the people in charge of making that nomination were to be made aware of that irradiating toxicity...

EDIT:
Turns out I'm incorrect. That aforementioned streamer was removed from the program.

What person?  what issues?  lalalalala, they cant hear youuuuu.    i thought the program as a whole got removed?
