Quick thinking randomly force operator back into warframe

Recommended Posts

Step to recreate this bug

1. Make sure you have quick thinking equipped

2. Use any ability that effect self (almost every frame have a buff of some kind)

3. Let enemy hit you until you quick thinking activate (it lock you at 2 health)

4. Now every stray hit that your empty WARFRAME take will instantly teleport your operator back into your warframe

This bug effectively make operator form unusable if you have any channeled ability or buff active. In actual mission whenever you transference out you will get knocked back into your frame in less than 3 seconds.

To clarify, the game forcing you back in to your frame if it takes damage while at 2hp, is normal behaviour.

But quick thinking only activates if your frame is at 2hp, so it makes qt annoying to use if you often have channeled abilities active.

This is not a bug. You are forced back to your warframe so that you don't lose all your energy without realizing it.  The alternative here would be that your warframe wastes all your energy tanking hits while you are doing operator things and then, when it runs out, you die instantly.  You can avoid this situation by turning off all warframe powers before using operator mode, in which case your warframe is completely invulnerable and Quick Thinking will not trigger.

Problem is that the operator "death" animation takes so long that by the time you get to control your warframe you are dead.

I can get this but there goes issues with this as there are in direct ways of health drain on frozen frames while in op. Sometimes frames will be vulnerable while you are in op mode which really sucks as when the animation times out the delay between shift ot and in your frame can kill you a lot. Its puinshing you for no reason and it gets annoying just dying because i shift into operator mode and forget to dash away.

There should be a delay to that pulback then because going operator for you to instantly being pulled back prevents you from using it how one normally would (at least how I would), like making yourself invincible with vazarin when you see you're getting hit, or give yourself energy with zenurik or run away from danger with any school for that matter.

This instant pullback just stalls you in place and gets you killed.

But I would prefer this auto-pullback not being a thing at all because transference can take even a few seconds depending on host's performance and would just add to the annoyance.

I can see why you would want to prevent something like this.

But the player made the very concious decision of equipping Quick Thinking on their frame, probably because they don't have much use for energy otherwise.

So I would expect a player that made that decision to be perfectly fine with draining most/all their energy, because thats what they modded their frame for.

I can understand that, but it is very inconsistent.

You're not forced back if you take health damage, so why should you be forced back if you take energy damage?

Though to be honest I'm more concerned by all the bugs the force you back to your frame if you move into certain areas; those specific gas-city changes were not welcome then and still aren't. Not to mention how that teleport resets all buffs :( .

well, i can't belive it was intended to be like this because without quick thinking nothing happen to the 'empty' frame, even if all hell breaks lose around it... so why should quick thinking still be operable after one goes into operator mode?

If you have an active channeled ability running ( like desecrate, or prowl - any ability that uses energy over time ) your frame is not invulnerable. it still takes 10% damage until that ability shuts off. If you equip quick thinking, Once your health reaches 2 it then uses your energy as the mod states, however this also pulls your operator back into your frame. This is the downside of equipping the mod that will keep you alive a bit longer if you stay in the frame and proceed to bail out of the frame while it's still doing something. Nothing is new about this, it's a balance mechanic so everyone isn't leaving the frame and doubling their firepower/utility without any downside.

I do agree the operator dissolve takes so long that unless your frame has a lot of energy left it's usually instant death ... which is annoying.
