Is there a good place to grind carbides? I'm trying to build Protea chassis but that needs 2,750.

Carbides are a Railjack resource, if you can't farm them there, you can also kill Eximus on Ceres. I hope this helps. Railjack would be the fastest way to get loads of them though.

Is there a specific tileset on Ceres for eximus?

Eximus is largely based on time in the Mission, so if you really want to get them outside of Railjack, then play a Mission for an extended period of time. so that'll mean and Endless Mission of some sort.

you really may as well just Matchmake into Railjack and play for a while. but play however you like.

farming ceres for enough carbides to build protea would take ages. 20 waves of the dark sector missions would barely give you 100

While Railjack is overwhelmingly the easiest way to get carbides, if you see an eximus stronghold sortie on Ceres one day, you should try using that mission to farm it. I did an eximus stronghold sortie defense on Europa once and got more cubic diodes than I knew what do to with!

Carbides collected in Railjack missions are dumped into the Railjack's forge so that you can craft ammo mid mission.  If the foundry is full (default maximum 200),   they'll overflow into player inventory.   Otherwise,  you have to use the Foundry's Refine button to manually transfer them.
