Remote Maroo's Bazaar browsing and posting trades

Recommended Posts

Imagine being able to access the listings on Maroo's Bazaar from your orbiter. And to be able to keep your trades posted there while you're online.

Optionally, not in a mission (works only if you're "afk" in orbiter, dojo, any hub). But this is debatable.

If we’re going go do that we may as well have an auction house.

Which is long overdue.

Never gonna happen.

Do you? Threads like these go in circles for days on end and nothing ever changes, we're never getting an auction house. It would literally destroy the game economy and de-value platinum. No company is dumb enough to sink the value of their premium currency.

Explain to me then, why games that do have centralized trading and auction houses don't have destroyed economies or devalued premium currencies?

All an auction house does is make trading easier. That's all. It lets more people trade than would otherwise. If the games economy can't handle the people that are already within that economy trading, then it is already a destroyed economy.

Yep. And it's good that way, we don't need ways to passively farm up to billions of plat. It's already scary that there's players that not only have to never spend a single dime, but can buy up the market dozens of times and STILL sit on ten- thousands of plat.

I'm wondering what the long list of games that allow players to exchange premium currency is, and whether any of them include an auction system?

In dauntless you can earn 2ish bucks every 40ish days via the free battlepass.. but that's about it.. haven't played any other game where premium currency is as accessible as in Warframe..

The large majority of games don't allow for the trading of the premium currency between players. Guild Wars 2 has the gem currency and it's as wildly unpredictable as bitcoin with pricing sometimes, but you still can't trade it between players directly since you buy it with in game currency like gold.

Wow uses gold as a Pseudo-premium currency, and while you can trade it between players, blizzard has gone out of their way to limit how much of it you can get since they let the inflation go through the roof during the WoD expansion leading into Legion. Same thing for runescape, but that games economy is basically cemented it's so old.

All an auction house does is make it easier to drop the price on everything to the point where you might as well turn it in for ducats. That's all, it lets more people undercut by 1 plat every 17 seconds until you never have to worry about buying it again after one initial purchase. The games economy can't handle the people that are already within that economy, because they will literally destroy it.

Warframe is a Pseudo-MMO, unlike WoW, GW2, ESO, etc, It's a different ball game here entirely when it comes to trading and general economics. Players want things right away, gear, mastery, fashion, and especially platinum. If you, for a second, don't think that an auction house would completely sink the value of platinum, then you're just selfish.

People will undercut, constantly, and then demand an auction house feature on the mobile app. So on top of trying to compete with people trying to nickel and dime everything when you're on, you'll have to compete with those people waking up at 3 am to undercut you again.

The amount of snark with this one word, given the lack of understanding, is hilarious.

So did you have anything to add? Besides wanting DE to shoot themselves in the foot financially?

That's the same argument people use against Warframe Market, the external website players use as a pseudo auction house, but it really highlights the core problem with Warframe.

Half of Warframe is checking up external websites to compensate for horrible ui, subpar tutorials and lack of auction house. It's a miracle Warframe has player retention at all despite all the flaws.

Not if you pay attention to clues the game gives, explore, and think a little bit. Not even if you're determined to make Warframe into a capitlism simulator.

There are definitely things that can use cleanup, but the hyperbole of 'half' is ludicrous.

as said previously contrary to games that have auction house , warframe is a game that allow player to trade about anything and everything , even it's own premium currency.

one simple question with an example in it : if it was as accessible as an auction house, who in their right mind would spend 50 dollars on prime access when they could simply pay 7 dollars for platinium to buy any non-vaulted primed warframe ?
right , none.

then DE's earnings as a free to play would simply go bye bye by a few times.
Sure they would still have players paying for platinium but that would be it for most players that actually uses money, even newbies wouldn't pay that much for prime frame if it was doable as easily as with an auction house.

I don't even pay for things like that as i enjoy warframe for free and i can see and know of how badly it would damage DE's income.

Friggin' auction house... The term is plaguing every trade-related topic that's not actively trying to buy/sell. There's a huge diference between an auction house and a GUI for Maroo's Bazaar. An auction house would let you play a mission and even go offline. Auction house (for games) implies a GUI for bidding and buyout. This doesn't let you do ay of this.

Considering big-time traders, what is suggested here is even less useful than Warframe Market because Warframe Market lets you play missions, list stuff for sale and browse stuff at the same time.

In return, it is more user-friendly for people who:
- have weak computers and can't run a browser at the same time
- are new to the game. It lets them know that trade chat isn't the only way to trade.

This game is far less taxing than most 'modern' games and will run on older hardware fine. Not to PC shame anyone, but man, if you can't run WF on modest settings and have a single browser tab open at the same time, you're already in trouble for the open areas and you're going to be up the creek come future big updates.
