Deimos Hunting Targets INSIDE Terrain

I've been trying for weeks to rank up, however, I require the avian tags to rank up. I've tried looking at guides, various articles and so on. I was searching a particular spot to the south east when I FINALLY found one... Underneath the terrain. I've had no other choice to capture the creatures other than ground slamming or going back to Necrolisk. The latter never changing the outcome. They keep spawning inside and I am getting very frustrated at this point.
