Deimos: Arcana - New Bounties & Isolation Vaults Megathread

Recommended Posts

Welcome Tenno!

With the release of Deimos: Arcana, we have included New Bounties & Isolation Vaults!

Mother has 3 new Isolation Vault Bounties to complete! These new Isolation Vault Bounties become available after completing the initial Isolation Vault tier, with the respective Mother then offering the new Vault Bounty. As you unlock these new Vault Bounties, the difficulty will increase to match the prerequisite Isolation Vault and rewards will differ per Bounty.

In addition, 4 new Entrati Vault ruins await you in Isolation Vault Bounties!

Deimos Delicacies!
Daughter has tasked you to escort/protect a friendly POLYP-HOG JUGGERNAUT that is searching for Fungal Polyps! But we all know what happens when someone bothers us while we’re eating…

Infested Research!
Curious behaviors have been observed of the Infested interacting with the organic fluids in the underground caves. Subvert the fluid extraction device and throw it back at them to collect samples!

Cracks in Deimos!
There is a mysterious mist wafting throughout the area, driving the creatures within mad! Negate the effects of the mist with the lantern and seal the mist fissures before the creature's attempt to open the fissures.

If you have feedback to leave on the subject of Bounties & Isolation Vaults, then please do so in this thread. Please remember that you should keep your feedback constructive and civil.

  • If you like an aspect of the new content, tell us what you like.
  • If you do not like an aspect, then tell us why, and what you would change to make it better!

Please bear in mind this is not a place to leave bugs you discover while playing. If you do need to report a bug, please use the dedicated Deimos: Arcana Bug-Hunting Megathread!

Thank you!

"Esophages in Isolation Vault Bounties now have a press and hold context action to avoid accidentally interacting, and thus having to go all the way back down to do the Vault Generators. "

worst change in the entire update, please revert it back to instant click.

Hey guys, this new arcane grind is nuts. Like seriously, do you guys understand the system you've implemented?

I wont touch these because i already know you're gonna change the acquisition rates later. Whether it be in a year or in a month, i know you will, so im not touching the content. I find it odd you would weight the theorems as the more rare arcanes right after upping the count required to max them out to 21.

This was as constructive and civil as I could manage, sorry guys.

/feedback that you'll ignore

I feel like the new Bounty stage Bonus objective where you kill tumors to get the throwable then kill marked infested is not very pug friendly. It relies on people not randomly killing infested, and not using CC like Wisp not placing the electric stun mote which can be already in place after doing other bounty stages in the same area.

To get the required amount of infested in 1 group under 3 tries the whole team needs to come together and camp which is a bit hard to organize in public groups IMO (at least now, when people don't understand what to do), but I don't think people in pugs will ever stop murdering everything that moves on sight.

Requiring the completion of all three old iso vaults AND the new bounties all in a single sitting is a bit much. A lot of people, myself included, don't have/don't want to spend 2 hours in a single instance of Deimos just for a SLIM chance at a weapon part. Can we maybe get the various tiers available right from the start, and NOT have to spend half an eternity out in a buggy instance where you can get permanently stuck in the vaults if someone decides to disconnect?

I agree 100%.  The grind is way too long for a reward that is very meh.  It reminds me a lot of going for Necramech Thrusters.  The chances are so low that its not worth ever trying for.

I will say that EVEN if the extra missions didnt require waiting through 3 tiers of Iso Vaults, it would STILL be too time consuming for the rewards you get.  Just a swing and a miss from DE, so hard.

Having the same feelings about this right now. It was already hard enough to get any of the weapon parts, before Arcana I did quite a few runs (30-40) and I only managed to get a single weapon part. Now that we have 2 weapons to grind out for, it feels excessive, especially seeing that the mechs you have to defeat now seem quite a bit harder too. For someone who prefers to solo the vaults, where before I had to spend a little more time on the final stage of the Iso Vaults to defeat the 3 mechs trying not to die, now I barely made it out of there with a single revive. On the better side of things, the new vault setups look pretty incredible!

yeah... i almost lost everything, because of the texture bug that sometimes happen... when i finished the 3rd vault my screen just froze (i think "omg, after all this time, i´ll lost everything") LUCKLY it unfroze, and as DRGN21 said... too much for a SLIM chance for JUST 1 weapon part.

the bad thing is.... in 9 vaults i did today... only one the Esophage worked... in 8 of them, the thing didnt work and we all get to walk to exit (16 times, because of the vault + new mission)

I have been running these bounties a few times, and finding that I'm only getting common rewards. Is there some method to getting uncommon and rare, like the T1-T2-T3 bounties where you have to run them in a single session? I'm farming a lot of endo, but it's unclear rather I'm having just bad luck or if there's something more I need to be doing to get a chance at the weapon drops.

So much this. I thought I heard them say in a stream we would be able to select tiers for the vaults (must have misheard), instead we get double that content lock. Not a fan if this is the future of content for this game.

Positives: expanding the vaults to have more than one tile gives them some needed depth and variation. Juggernaut truffle hunting, despite being slow at times, is a rather cute bounty I wasn't expecting and a decent spin on the average defense.

Negatives: having to run three to four vault bounties in a row for the chance to recieve a single Arum Spinosa or Sporothrix part or Arcane in an oversaturated drop table is egregious. The concept of clearing out a vault to then access an alternative bounty in the same vault is fine on paper. However, it is somewhat poorly communicated on where to sign up for the alternate bounty, and the time sunk into doing all the bounties doesn't feel worthwhile just for a random piece of two weapons and/or ok arcanes.

So question from someone who ran my first isolation vault yesterday (started less than 3 months ago, right after Deimos update, but worked through Cetus level 5, with a bit of Fortuna on the side - now 4 - and just started Deimos faction grind).

In order to see the new Isolation Vaults, I have to run all 3 the initial ones on the bounty, and then, ON THE SAME BOUNTY, run the new ones?  So far I've mostly just been following along the group (who I assume know the existing ones inside and out) and tonight after the update my two groups stopped after 3.

And the new Mech parts only drop from the NEW bounties - requiring people who've run the existing ones for months to run through missions they mostly don't care about to get to the new stuff?

Am I understanding this correctly?

here's how my 4hrs of 3 runs ends in tragedy:

1. finished 3 old iso vault >>> host migration 2 times >>> new quest wont start

2. finished 3 old iso vault >>> 2 rando players decided to return to necralisk >>> forced back to necralisk

3. finished 3 old iso vault >>> 2 player's ESC stopped working and thought the 3 old vault with new layout was the new content >>> return to necralisk

4. NEW 21/11/2020 - finished 2 old iso vault>>> everyone's ESC stopped working>>> can't accept T3 vault mission>>> return to necralisk

Didn't even touch the new content😡

Can we do the new content without so much grind?

Why must i do do 3 sets of gather residue >>>make concoction>>> clear toxin tunnel?????

THE 3 VAULTS ARE CONNECTED NOW, WHY ARE WE REPEATING THE ABOVE STEPS 3 TIMES????

Judging by the official drop tables and my own correlating experience running some Arcana post-IsoVault bounties, It looks like the drop tables are busted.

Never saw a Bonus reward roll despite perfecting each objective.

Only got 'common UI tier' rolls in each step of the bounty for IsoVault one - assuming that they are supposed to use the standard bounty structure, where the UI 'rarity' tiers correspond to the pools for each individual stage of the bounty, that means the three 'rarity buckets' (by UI) are not all currently accessible.

Official drop table also only lists one bucket as the reward pool for each Arcana Vault tier.

Are the bounties on a rotation? Because currently the is only a few of the weapon parts that can drop from the Arcana bounties.

Also would it be possible to have a bounty giver in the vaults? As it stands you have to exit the caves to get the new bounty then go straight back in the same cave.

What!!?????

Which "Isolation Vault" is the "Isolation Vault"?

If I start "Isolation Vault" from "the Mother inside" (a tier 1 mission) and complete it, I still cannot start "the Isolation Vault mission called Research something" that drops the weapon blueprints (from "the Mother in cave", tier 2). When I try to start it, it says "Complete Isolation Vault first". What!!!???

If I go straight into Cambion Drift and start "Isolation Vault" (tier 1) from "the Mother in cave" and complete that, there is no follow-up tier 2 mission at all. Going to another Mother shows "the Isolation Vault mission called Research something" (tier 2), but when I try to select it I get the same "Complete Isolation Vault first". What!!!???

WTF is the logic behind this? Which "Isolation Vault" is what "Isolation Vault"? What is the dependency between "Isolation Vault X", "Isolation Vault Y", and the other "Isolation Vaults called something else"? Is there a tier dependency between them other than 1 => 2 => 3? How many different Mothers are there? Does Mother have split personality disorder? WTF is going on???

This is just nuts.

That can't be true. Can it?

That makes no sense at all. I've run a massive amount of triple vaults for the Necramech mods, this would mean that I would have to do that all over again just to get a chance at the new weapon parts?

Is the new mission endless then, so that if you spend 40 meaningless minutes just to make it available you can then run it as many times you can stand?

Oh, I just had a sour reminder, trying to shove three vaults down to test the other two drop tables match exclusively the buckets in the data-dump.

Hey, DE?

Necramechs are still as awful to openly fight as they were at launch. Statuses aren't helping when you can't reliably hit the targets before status procs expire.

You broke the ways to fight them reliably - and sure, Octavia was cheap because she was a literal non-engagement, but why kill active fighting using attaching-weapons too? My Larkspur's basically useless for the task I made a build for, now. Good luck aiming that at the arms, while being shot, slashed, mined and otherwise murdered.

Also, we still have no explanation or cohesiveness on the way abilities are arbitrarily dispelled/nullified/forced to a cooldown/given an activation delay. Operators still get randomly shoved back into frames for no adequately provided reason.

Make the enemy Necramech fights less opaque and aggravating. If a unit has locational weak points you have to hit, then it cannot be allowed to have twitchy animations and AI that make those weakpoints utterly unpredictable. Explain what the hell is going on with abilities and make it consistent so we can understand how to operate around the obstacles.

Honestly, the Octavia method was the only reasonably non-frustrating way I could use to fight the nechromechs and now for some reason after it working against a bonewidow it won't work against the voidrig one and... well... now I am just stuck in a mission cause the rest of my kit is geared towards the infested side of it or for some reason won't even touch it...

Why the bloody can't I hit the weak spot with my zaw's arcane now?! it makes no sense to change that and only makes it more frustrating to do.
